Walter added "your appear ance before the committee for that purpose will be most welcome." Moya, an ex-convict with a criminal record dating back to his childhood, showed no trace of emotion when the verdict was pronounced. Moya pleaded guilty earl ier to joining with Augustine Baldonado, 25, to kill Olga last Nov. 17 for an offer of $6,000 by the victim's mother-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan, 55, of Santa Barb ara, Calif. good of all Oregonians." The House-approved tax program was completely re vised by the Senate Tax Com mittee. Hatfield declined to express a preference for either pro gram. He said neither includes the features of "base-broadening" and "flexibility" of his program. Luce Controversy Promises Tougher Time for Nominees Washington -CPD- Congress ional foreign policy leaders said today the disputed assign ment of Clare Booth Luce as ambassador to Brazil forecast a tighter Senate check on fu ture non-career diplomats starting with Ogden R. Reid of New York. Reid, the former editor of the New York Herald-Tribune, 33 years old and lacking Mrs. The eyes of an infant at birth are about two-thirds as large as they will be when the child reaches age 8 or 9. Luce's diplomatic experience, is President E i s e n hower's nominee a s ambassador t o Israel - a hot spot in the Mid dle East. A key member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, preferring not to be identified, said Reid and all other non career nominees . will get "very, very close scrutiny" as a result of the Luce affair. The severity of the Luce confirmation battle made it a Hedrkk Band Concert Set Friday Night, Hedrick Junior High school will present a band concert starting at 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, in. the Hedrick gymnasium. Also participating in the program will be the grade school honor band and the Hedrick stinger drill team. There are about 80 members in the Hedrick band, 55 in the grade school honor band, and 34 in stinger drill team. certainty that Reid would face tough going. The dispute flared anew late Wednesday with these devel opments: -Senate GOP leader Everett M. Dirksen (111.) accused Morse of trying to persuade Mrs. Luce's physician to vio late his Hippocratic Oath by giving Morse a report on her "psychiatric" condition with out her permission. Morse said he only asked her doctor if she had been getting psychi atric treatment and had never asked for a medical report. Her doctor said she had not. ' Poem Read to Senate -Sen. Stephen M. Young (D Ohio) said the Luce contro versy brought to" mind a poem entitled "The Woman With The Serpent's Tongue," which he .read to a. silent Senate. It referred to a woman "ambi tious from her natal hour" with "poisoned words that wildly fly." Ef Brown. . O'Leary was born in Bos ton, Mass., where he received his elementary training. He graduated from the Boston school of accounting and from the University of San Fran cisco in accounting. Following duty in the Navy, I he served as assistant disburs- i ing officer for the San Fran- j cisco regional office of the : post office department before he joined the corps of engi neers in San Francisco in cost accounting. O'Leary fills a position which was vacated last Dec. 1 when Al Hansen transferred ! to Anchorage, Alaska. His wife, Joy E. (Trumbull)! O'Leary, is a graduate of the University of Oregon. She and i their son, Robert Dennis, 3Vz, expect to move to Medford in the near future.
