' Woman Attorney to Speak For League Annual Session Guest speaker for the air nual meeting of the Medford League of Women Voters Sat urday, March 25, at the Red Cross building will be Miss Noreen Kelly, local attorney. Luncheon wil be served at 12:30 p.m. Miss Kelly will discuss the organization of the court sys tem from the smallest to the largest unit, as a tie-in with the League's study item for May, which is to be the ad ministration of justice in Jackson county. Listed in Who's Who of American Women, the young attorney served as Medford municipal judge in 1957-58. She is a graduate from St. Mary's school in 1949; attend ed Marylhurst college in Port land for three years; and re ceived her bachelor of science and bachelor of law degrees from the University of Ore gon. From July to December, 1955, Miss Kelly toured coun tries in Europe. She has prac ticed law in Medford since December, 1955, when she be came a partner of her father in the firm established by her grandfather in 1906. At the present time she shares the partnership with! her brother, Bernard, while her father, Edward C. Kelly, serves as circuit court judge. She is a member of the Ore gon Bar association and the American Bar association and has been admitted to practice in federal court. For . one year during her college career, Miss Kelly served as 'State president of the Young Democrats and is also a member of Pi Beta Phi social sorority. , She will be introduced by Mrs. Ben Day, resource chair man for the justice section of the League's "Know Your County" study. Members and guests should make reservations for the luncheon by phoning Mrs. Ho mer Marx, SPring 2-6845. Mrs. John T. Weisel will have charge of table settings and decorations. The League welcomes all women of the community in terested in the study of gov ernment, those in charge state. 1 An inexpensive bookcase is made with boards and bricks. Group Welcomes All Newcomers Newcomers to Medford and vicinity will be welcome when Medford Sojourners club meets Thursday, April 23, at 12:30 p.m. at Girls Community club. Any woman who has lived in this area for two years or less is eligible to become a member. Sojourners is a purely so cial organization and its main purpose is to help new comers become acquainted. Meetings are held bi-monthly, and include coffee and des sert and a short business meeting. 'Memories of a Century7 To Be Flower Show Theme Phoenix - "Memories of a Century" will be the theme of the spring flower show of the Phoenix garden club which will be. held on April 26 from 1-9 p.m.' at the Phoe nix Community club on First street., Phoenix. Entries for the judged show may be made from 7:30 to 10 ajn. on the day of the show. Entries received after those hours will be non-competitive. A plam sale and an antique display and a silver tea and cooky sale also are planned for the affair. New this year will be a special program at 3:30 and 7 p m. Mrs. Chris Wolff was elected first ' vice president; Mrs. . Vaughn Quackenbush, second vice president; Mrs. W. I. House, secretary; and Mrs. Charles Lewis, treasurer.
