Repairman Attends Portland Classes Jim Loegel, PBX repair man for Pacific Telephone in Medford, has been attending classes in Portland on the installation of a new type of private branch exchange sys tem which the telephone com pany has introduced, accord ing to Manager J. H. Creager. The new system, called a 756A PBX, is a development of the Bell Telephone Labora tories. It is a dial system and was designed to meet the needs of telephone subscrib ers requiring 40 to 60 exten sion locations. A glimpse of things to come in telephone service is seen in the new 756A equipment, Creager said. The system is housed in filing cabinet size enclosures, making it possible to eliminate requirements for large telephone equipment rooms, Creager explained. The classes which Loegel has been attending cover 160 hours of classroom instruc tion. Other telephone em ployees throughout the state will receive the same training in the future, Creager said.
