Only 17 students managed Thursday to cram themselves into a booth, two short of the world record of 19 established by the Hatfield Technical Col lege at Hatfield, England. A spokesman for the Bell Telephone company said Ca nadian booths are the same size as the British ones. "They must be skinnier in England," commented a Ryer son professor. Said the student who di rected Ryerson's attempts to win glory from the British: "We can't claim to be world champions, but I guess we're Canadian champions." D. F. Huson Recorder Enterprise Grange At the last regular meeting of the Enterprise Grange 50 vis iting members from Granges through out Jackson county were present. This is the second meeting in a series of visitation meetings recently inaugurated by the Jackson County Pomona Grange. The purpose is to arouse greater interestin Grange work and closer relationship among the various Granges in the county. During the regular meeting the home economics chairman, Gladys Boulter, reported the food and apron sale a success. The next project, a card par ty, has been postponed until March 21 to avoid a conflict ing date with a party planned by Live Oak Grange. A Centennial celebration in which the older residents of the community will be honor ed has been scheduled June 17. Enterprise Grange is the oldest existing Grange in Jackson county, having been established 47 years ago. The new serving table has been completed by Al Boulter and was in use at the meeting. The dairy chairman report ed that the average produc tion per cow has been increas ing over the nation although the cow population is on the decline. He reminded the dairymen and stockmen that now is the time to plan action for control of cattle warbles. He warned also that such a project should be a commun ity project to insure the most effective results. He also attended a meeting in Salem with other represen tatives from Grants Pass voic ing the affirmative view for the use of the Rogue. The new insurance payment plan was explained. Prem iums will now be paid semi annually instead of quarterly. Two members, Alice Wales, retiring home economics chairman, and Gladys Boulter, retiring lecturer, were pre sented to the Master's station to receive awards for satis factory completion of their work. ' Bob Bitterling, Master of Pomona Grange, displayed the agate which will be the re volving prize awarded during the visitation contest. The Grange having the largest percentage of membership at tending a visitation will be entitled to possess the agate for the following period, and will hold it until some other Grange wins it. Live Oak took the agate home for having the largest attendance at the first visitation. Bitterling explained that the committee on visitation will not reveal the secret for gaining the permanent posses sion of the agate. Other prizes will be given. One is a Bible for the Grange altar to be used in ritualistic work. Masters from visiting Granges reported briefly to the group. They included mas ters from Roxy Ann, Gold Hill, Live Oak and Central Point. Grange Master's Council meeting will be held at Eagle Point Grange at 8 p.m. April 11. Bitterling explained that the masters, and all officers and committee chairmen are voting members, but any members can attend the meet ings. Carl Christensen of Live Oak is the newly elected presi dent of the council. The lecturer, Dolly Olym pius, introduced Phillip Hil lis, who is leader of the Boy Scout Troop of Evans valley. The members of this Troop have completed a Red Cross first aid course. Scout John Machado acted as announcer and explained each type of accident and proper first aid treatment for it." Members of the Troop demonstrated the application of the proper first aid treatment. Following the demonstra tion, the Scouts put on a short farce, administering first aid to "Old Man Enterprise," act ed out by Granger Harold Wilson and the Scouts.
