8A MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Oregon, Sunday, March 1, 1959 Mushroom Club To Study Morel Southern Oregon Mush room club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, March 4, 8 pjn. at the Red Cross building, 60 Hawthorne ave., Medford. Study and discussion will center around the different varieties of the much prized morel which will soon make its welcome appearance in fhe woods and fields of the valley and mountain slopes. Visitors are welcome to at tend the session. The club plans a field trip today. Members and anyone interested' are asked to meet at the home of Fred Law rence, 1422 Euclid avenue, at noon, and the group will leave from there. Westminster Guild Announces Program Westminster guild of First Presbyterian church will hold the monthly meeting Mon day, March 2, at 7:45 p.m. in the Fireplace room of the church. The subject of the program and devotions will be "Called by the Spirit" and will be in charge of Miss Marv Ellen Bell and Miss Elizabeth McGalliard. An invitation is extended to all interested business women to attend. Navy Mothers Plan Meeting Wednesday Rogue Valley Navy Moth ers' club will meet Tuesday, March 3, at 10 ajn. at the home of Mrs. N. E. Tycksen, Box 67, Old Pacific highway, Talent. Rummage will be repaired in the morning and a potluck luncheon will be served at noon. Members are asked to take rummage for the sale to be held March 10 at 9 a jn. in the Fehl building on Ivy Street. Mothers of Navy, Marine corps and Coast Guard per sonnel are invited to attend. Birthdays Observed At Recent Meeting Of Mistletoe Club A covered dish dinner was held Wednesday by the Mis tletoe club at the Girls Com munity club. Mrs. Irvin Pat ten was in charge of the event. Birthdays for Mrs. Charle Hendry and Mrs. Arthur Johnson were celebrated. Members were reminded to have old-fashioned dresses ready by March 25. Guests were Mrs. V. V. Hastings and Mrs. Etta Pat ten. Next meeting of the group will be held March 11 for a dessert luncheon with Mrs. Ira Lawrence, Mrs. Anna Mc Cormack, Mrs. Louie Bashaw and Mrs. Frank Gidney in charge of tne event. Miriam Ward Opens Beauty Shop Here The Miriam Beauty Shop is now open at 909 East Jackson street, Mrs. Miriam Ward, owner and operator, has an nounced. Mrs. Ward, who several years ago worked in the val ley before moving to Eugene and Cottage Grove, is a past noble grand of Olive Rebekah lodge, past state president of the FL clubs of Oregon, past matron of Reames chapter, Oregon of the Eastern Star and is currently active in Daughters of the Nile Patrol. Woman Honored At Shower Party Mrs. Richard Garrett was honored at a shower Wednes day afternoon given by Mrs. Reimer Peterson and Mrs. Clarence Lack at the home of the former on Beatty street. The desert luncheon table was decorated in pink and blue bootees and stream ers centered with a gum drop tree with miniature babies. The honored guest was as sisted by her sister, Mrs. Rodger P. Olson, Grants Pass, in opening her many gifts. Guests were Mrs. Frank Armstrong, Mrs. William Tay lor, Mrs. Mary Payton, Mrs. Fred Middlebusher, Mrs. Harry Wright, Mrs. C. F. Wed nesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The band, under the direc- tion of Steven Whipple, will play several selections and Roland Griffith will explain the athletic program. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will participate and the presi dent of the school student body will speak. All parents are invited to attend.
