She was presented a lifetime membership and pin by the. group. ' Each of the past presidents was presented a certificate. The past presidents includ ed Mrs. J. W. Jacobs, Mrs. ! Florence Laing, Mrs. Ethel Florey, Mrs. Dee Newton, Mrs. Irene Shirley, Mrs. Grov er Corum, Mrs. H. Martin, Mrs. John Benson, Sebas tiano J. Fagone, John Weber, and Ted McLean. The group sang a song written by Mrs. Bernice Viles, second grade teacher, about the association. Jack Holmes, principal, re ported on the fire marshal's inspection, during the busi ness meeting which preceded the program. An article from the Na tional Lunchroom magazine in which the Lincoln school was cited for an outstanding lunch room, was read. It was announced that the Veterans of Foreign . Wars' auxiliary would sponsor the Lincoln school Brownie and Girl Scout programs. John Weber, Mrs. Ray Jack, and Mrs. Virgil Stickley with Mr. Holmes and Mrs. Fagone, advisors, were elect ed to the nominating com mittee. In charge of the pro gram were Mrs. Dexter Wil liams and Mrs. Bernice Viles. Members of the executive committee were dressed in old - fashioned attire. Old fashioned cookies and cake, Volunteers Needed By Service A second training course for new volunteers who are willing to assist with the Friendly Visiting service will be held Wednesday, February 25 at the Red Cross building, 60 Hawthorne avenue, ac cording to the committee from the Rogue Valley Coun cil for the Aging. The session will start at 10 a.m. and last until 2 with a sack lunch at noon. The Friendly Visiting pro gram was started last Novem ber to provide cheer in the form of visiting, reading, writing letters, shopping and similar services for patients in nursing homes and homes for the aged. Although there are now around 30 men and women calling in the homes once a week or every two weeks, there is too much need for as many more, the council reports. The training course will again be conducted by Mrs. Frank Fairweather, assisted by Mrs. Fred Gardner and Miss Agnes White of the Jack son County Welfare depart ment. . Sullivan, direc tor. From Wednesday, Febru ary 25 through the final day of the exhibition, March 1, the museum will be open from 12 noon until 10 p.m. inis will provide more op portunity to view this out standing exhibition of the paintings of the famous Dutch artist. Attendance at the exhibit is growing daily. Admission is 75 cents for adults; 25c for children under 14 and for high school students with student body card. decorated by Mrs. E. A. Seibert, Mrs. W. A. Arnold and Mrs. John Carter. Following the luncheon the women attend the February meeting of the association at the school. Airman Arrives For Visit Here Steven L. Houston, airman third class in the U. S. Air Force, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis S. Hous ton, 1014 Maple Park drive. The airman, who arrived in the valley Thursday, is sta tioned at Tucson, Ariz. He will leave next week end for a new' duty assignment at Sacramento, Calif.
