CLUB SOCIETY POP i J I -5H I UVE j PREVENTION OP fl State Tax Office To Remain at Its Present Location The Oregon State Tax com mission's Medford office will remain at its present address, room 321, Leverette building, until March 31, according to O. D. Binegar Jr., field audi tor. He said that "due to un foreseen circumstances" the commission will not move to quarters in the new Wilson McCabe building at Fourth and Grape sts. on the first of March as planned. Assistance in preparing state tax returns will be of fered at the Leverette build ing March 2, 9 and 16 be tween 8 and 12 a.m. and 1 and 5 p.m. In addition, assistance will be offered at Ashland in the council room at the city hall March 9 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at the admin istration building, Camp White, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p m. Assistance ; Available Assistance will be available at the new office in Medford April 1 through 15 weekdays except Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Grants Pass tax assistance will be offered at room 3, courthouse annex, March 23 26 from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and on March 27 from 9 ajn. to 4 p.m. Persons wishing help In preparing returns are asked to fill in the form as nearly as possible before calling at the commission office, he said. Information pertaining to to tal income fror 1958 and cop ies of the 1957 state and fed eral returns should be brought. In addition, those who paid additional federal income tax es during 1958 should be pre pared to state the date and amount paid, according to the auditor. The office will be closed Monday in observance of "Washington's birthday. Association Holds First Meeting The Oregon Restaurant and Beverage association held its first annual meeting in Port land recently following mer ger of the Oregon Licensed Beverage association and the Associated Rest aurants of Oregon. The new association is a trade group organized for the interests of restaurants, ho tels, dinner-clubs, lounges and taverns. Representatives of both or ganizations have been work ing out details for the merger for some time, officers re ported. Each group held a meeting last week for mem bership approval of the mer ger. Attending the Portland meeting from this area, rep resenting s the Rogue River Valley chapter, were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hamner, Wood en Shoe; James Clithero, Rogue Riviera; Edgar Da hack, Ed's Tavern;- Major Connell, Gold Nugget tavern. Clithero and Dahack were elected directors of the state executive committee. State headquarters are in the Wea therly building, Portland.
