Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Leitch III were recently mar ried in Rome, Italy, Mrs. Leitch being the former Ruth Crane of Aurburndale, Mass. For the past two years Leitch has been in Saudia, Arabia with Aranco. After Christmas they will go to Massachusetts where they will visit with Mrs. Leitchs' parents for a while and then they will go to New York City where he will be established with his company. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Arn old Thompson Jr., Roberts rd., Dec. 10, a baby girl, weighing eight pounds, and named Mi chelle Aileen. Maternal grand parents are TS'r. and Mrs. Ros- coe Larson, Vancouver ave., and paternr i grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold O Thompson, Springbrook rd. Lone Pine school started Christmas vacation Fri., Dec. 19, and will resume classes Jan. 5. The school recently had a standardization inspec tion and as of Dec. 10 is a standard school, having met all the state requirements. Miss Irene Hallberg, state supervisor of elementary edu cation, Salem, and Robert Lawrence of the Jackson county school superintend ent's office, were the inspec tors. The school buses are now equipped with the flashing stop signals, as will be re quired by law next year. It is to be remembered that when the buses are stopped for loading and unloading and while the signals are flashing that any cars following or meeting the buses are re quired to stop until the sig nals are no longer flashing and the bus is moving on its way. Wilson school will dismiss the students for the Christmas holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. and classes will re sume Monday, Jan. 5. On Monday and Tuesday of this coming week the children will sing Christmas carols each morning.
