working for the Byersdorff
and Miller Logging Co., since
he completed his service with
the U.S. Navy.
The wedding is planned for

cut and served by Mrs. John

cember meeting and Christ
mas party, Saturday, Dec. 13
at the Grants Pass Masonic
temple at 1 p.m. Dessert will
be served at 1:15 p.m. by the
chorus.
Members are reminded to
take gifts for the children in
the Shrine hospital, or if' not
able to attend to leave them

ing Monday, December 8.' All
gifts are to be marked for a
boy or girl with the age, and
on a separate slip the price

the Masonic temple at 9:30

Miss Eula Wintermote, for
mer Jackson county home
demonstration agent now
working with the Near East
Foundation in Tehran, Iran,
has written to say that her
present position is chiefly
that of directing women's ac
ticities in a girls' school at
Galeh-nou.
About 50 girls are now in
attendance at this school
where Iranian girls are
trained for elementary grade
teaching, extension work,
and work in community de
velopment. As graduates of
the school commence work in
the field, Miss Wintermote is
also responsible for on-the-job
supervision. A car and
driver are provided. " .
Sunday work is required,
she reports, with Friday, the
Moslem sabbath, the day of
leisure. '
. Miss Wintermote writes
that there is an active social
program among the Ameri
cans stationed in Tehran and
that she has already met Mrs.
Delmer Dooley (Thalia Doty
of Medford) at several dinner
parties-
Before leaving for Tehran,
Miss Wintermote was award
ed a citation for distinguished
service in the field of home
economics by the National
Home Demonstration Agents'
