Goose latum To Bring IKIoop Team Mere on Pec. 9 Goose Tatum, considered one of the world's greatest basketball players, will bring his Harlem Stars to Hedrick Junior High school srvm on Tuesday night, Dec. 9. " The Stars will play Hawkinson Tire of Medford, members of ' the newly-formed Southern Oregon Independent league. The game Is set for 8 p.m. Tatum, formerly a standout clown and scoring ace with the worl d-famous Harlem Glob etrotters, is currently ' winding up a tour of the Far "East and is due to arrive in San Francisco next week. He has amassed an array of outstanding colored basket ball players, including the well-known Sweetwater Clif ton, and while their hoop play leaves audiences as tounded, they mix in enough clowning tactics to provide a well-rounded evening of en tertainment. It will be the first appear ance of Tatum's club in this area for some time. Fans support the winner too, the figures shdwed, since Cleveland and Baltimore, the leaders of the National Foot ball league's two divisions, showed the largest actual in crease. Attendance at five home games of the Browns was up 53,901, the largest in crease in the league, while the Colts' crowds increased 36, 464, the second biggest in crease. Largest Percentage The largest percentage in crease, though, went. to the Philadelphia Eagles, tied for last place in the Eastern Div ision. The Eagles, one of two teams in the loop who switch ed to collegiate stadiums for home games, jumped 30,948 in attendance for a climb of 29 per cent. Cleveland's in crease was 19 per cent and Baltimore's 16 per cent.
