I Holiday Attire Modeled For Mistletoe Club Show MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Oregon, Sunday, November 23, 1958 7A Dress Up for the Holidays Gowns to wear during the coming holidays were shown at a luncheon and style. show sponsored by Mistletoe club, Royal Neighbors of America, given Wednesday afternoon at Girls Community club. Mrs. Del Ross was general chair man, and Mrs. Charles Champlin served as commen tator. Modeling were Mrs. Charles Hendry, Mrs. Lee Johnson, Mrs. William Rus sell, Mrs. Ruby Mallory, Mrs. Irvin Patten, Mrs. Ora Law rence, Mrs. Ira Laurence, Miss Blanche Arnold and Mrs. Ross. Montgomery Ward and company supplied the cloth ing, and models hair styles 3 , " ft Miss Blanche Arnold,. long time member of Mistletoe camp. Royal Neighbors of America, was one of the mo dels for the luncheon and style show which Mistletoe club gave Wednesday after noon et C-i-h Community club. were by House of Beauty. One of the gowns modeled by the party chairman, Mrs. Ross, was a turquoise em possed taffeta dance dress trimmed with rhinestone but tons down the princess-style bodice and skirt ending in a fashionable ruffle at the bot tom. In the evening wear group Mrs. Johnson modeled a billowing evening skirt of flocked taffeta worn with black velveteen top with three-quarter sleeve. A frosh of Christmas red faille with white fur collar and peneled skirt, was worn by Mrs. Hendry, and Miss Arnold wore a striped frock with rhinestone buttons. One group of clothing in cluded sports, lounging and home wear, and another was of daytime clothing. Mrs. Wil liam Russell modeled a circu lar black felt skirt with grey and white yarn trim, and Mrs. Patten one of the popuar car coats with shawl collar. Mrs. Lawrence modeled a nylon duster quilted in gold metallic thread. In the daytime wear group, Mrs. Mallory wore a royal blue dress of blended wool and nylon, a fabric combina tion becoming very popular. Sheaths were shown, dresses and coats for the woman of below average height, and one of the interesting suits was of imoprted grey Italian flannel with removable grosgrain col lar. Luncheon decorations were arranged by. Mrs. Randy Hug dahl and Mrs. Thomas Mee, and Mrs. Floyd Bewley was musician. Mrs. Carl Pearson was luncheon chairman and favors were supplied by Mrs. Ross, Avon representative. Entertainment include d dance numbers by Carol Ku balek and Deleen Ross, Mar cia and Tresa Teutsch, stu dents from the Colleen Hope Dance studio; a solo by Mrs. Yvonne Cairo, Ashland, ac companied by Mrs. Earl Swift and numbers by The Shadows of St. Mary's school. Electa Club Electa Social club, Order of Eastern Star, will meet Fri day, November 28, at 1 p.m. Members attending are to take a Thanksgiving sandwich. CAMERAS PHOTOGRAPHS Flower Judge Speaks for Club Mrs. Carl Norris, certified flower judge, spoke for Grove Garden club at a Wednesday evening meeting. She gave the history of the rose, instruc tions on the new methods of pruning, and how to plant new rose bushes. The speaker reviewed some of the new rose . varieties. Mentioned were the Kordia perfecta, a red hybrid tea rose; sterling silver, a silvery lavender rose; green fire, a chartreuse; and the Gale Bor den. Prior to the meeting the an nual Thanksgiving turkey din ner was served. The serving table was arranged by Mrs. W. Wilson, Mrs. Alex Connell and Mrs. Catherine Trow bridge with gold and bronze chrysanthemums. Red berries and 'gourds were arranged on the other tables. Mr. and .Mrs. B. H. Belknap and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Mc Mahan became members at the meeting. Mrs. Ruth Marx was a guest. Mrs. Belknap was appoint ed the new refreshment chairman. The next meeting will be the annual Christmas party with a gift exchange planned. Degree of Honor To Hold Meeting Degree of Honor will meet Monday, November 24, at 8 p.m. at the Girls Community club. The yearbook will be discussed. Miss Violet Die trich will be hostess. Power Company Names Winners Winners of a Medford area 4-H recipe contest sponsored j by the home service depart ment of the California-Oregon Power company have been announced. They were Norma Noble, Eagle Point, first prize; Patsy Charley, Central Point, sec ond prize; Sandra Waddell, Ashland, third prize. Group winners were Kandy Kids, Central Point, first prize; Pan Dandies, Siskiyou area, sec ond; Toothpicks and Sweet Dishes, Lone Pine area, third. Prizes were small electric appliances donated by the power company. Prize win ning recipes also will be print ed in a monthly recipe sheet published by COPCO. The 4-H units compiled groups of recipes in "cook book" form under the titles of main dish, sandwich or snack, cake, pie, cookie or other dessert, or potluck (this covered any other type of recipe). The group entries were judged on education value of the project to the group, con formance to rules, and on taste appeal, originality, prac ticability and accuracy of the individual recipes. As the rules for the 4-H recipe contest were th' same as for the Seventeen maga zine contest, the 4-H recipes are being returned to the girls, enabling them to meet the December 1 deadline of the Seventeen contest. The magazine contest is open to everyone, individuals and groups Girl Scouts, food classes in school,, etc., for girls between the ages of 13 and 20. Methodist Women To Collect Food For Salem Home Jams, jellies and other articles for the Methodist home in Salem are to be tak en to the monthly meeting of Woman's Society of Christian Service set tor luesday, .No vember 25. It is said that the gifts are "to show thankful ness at this season for the good things of life which we enjoy and which can be shared with others." The articles will be sent, to the home in time for the Christ mas holidays. Worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m., and a business meeting at 11 a.m. with the president, Mrs. L. G. Rankin presiding. Mrs. Anne Gorby will be in charge of the afternoon pro gram on the United Nations which begins at 1:15 p.m. The program will be varied with a United Nations film "This is the Challenge." Mrs. Chester James wll 'give the afternoon devotions. 1 Circle 7, of which Mrs. Frank Van Drew is chairman, will serve the 12:15 p.m. luncheon.
