November 1, at the home of
Mrs. Roach. There, we organ
ized our club. We voted and
named it the "Willing' Work

In the latter part of the
meeting we decided that we
would make sample pot hold
ers. These are to be made at
home. Our next meeting will
be held Dec. 13, at the home
of Mrs. Roach.

Grove, Cub scouts held their
first pack meeting in the Oak
Grove cafeteria Tuesday night.
Presiding over the meeting
was George Bryant, new Cub
Master who was introduced
by Chuck Shinn, our past Cub
Master.
Two-year pins were award
ed to Craig Parsons, Douglas
Raveter, Ralph Flight and
Steve Sandberg. Douglas also
received two silver arrows to
add to his bear badge. Bobby
Clark received his bear badge
and a gold and silver arrow to
go with it.
Steve Sandberg will have a
silver arrow to show for the
work he did this summer and
also a denner badge.
Four boys took another step
forward in cubbing and added
the wolf badge to their uni
forms. They are Andrew
Christian, Henry Keesee, Greg
Collins and Ricky Gravelle. .

badge.
Gifts were given to Chuck
Shinn, retiring Cub Master,
and Kenny Philips, retiring
committeeman, in apprecia
tion for the help they have
given our pack in the past

ers enjoyed games, prizes and
apple cider.
A cake raffle was held and

Stream Conditions To Be Controlled in OSC Research Job
Corvallis A quarter-mile
stretch of a small stream in
which water flow, fish life
and other stream conditions
will be rigidly controlled is
being readied by a team of
Oregon State college scientists
for a new, long-range research
on unknown phases of stream
life and management.
The unique outdoor labora
tory will make it possible to
study the relationships and in
teractions of water quality,
fish production, plant growth
including troublesome slime,
insect production, stream bed
changes, and effects of differ-
j ent types of organic wastes.
First Studies
It is one of the first studies
of its kind ever conducted and
will provide important infor
mation on multiple stream
use. -
A special dam and diversion
ditch will make it possible to
keep the stream flow constant
about a cubic foot per sec
ond throughout the year. The
