Medford, Oregon- Seoul - (UPD President Syngman Rhee has pledged that the United States will "never be alone" in its fight against Communism. The United States and other "free" nations can count on the support of South Korea with its 720,000-man armed forces in any war against Communist countries includ ing Communist China, he said in an exclusive written inter view with United Press In ternational. Tide Said Turned The graying statesman ve hemently denied that the United States would ever have to fight without allies in Asia. Pointing to recent de velopments in Burma, Paki stan and Thailand, he said that "almost everywhere in Asia the tide has turned against Communism." "We in Korea do not have much, but we shall always do what we can in the struggle for freedom and indepen dence," Rhee said. The Korean leader recalled that his country offered "such help as we could give" to South Viet Nam during the Indochinese War which ended in 1954 and also to the anti Communist rebel forces in Indonesia early this year. South Korea also offered to help the Nationalist Chi nese soon after the Formosa crisis began in August. "Those who fight for right and justice will never be alone," Rhee said. Admitted Killer Of Women Shows Little Concern Los Angeles -(UPD- Harvey M. Glattman, whose calm re cital of hovv, he raped and strangled three young women led veteran homicide detec tives to label him a "cold fish" . showed little concern today as authorities sought to determine where he would be tried for the crimes. Glatman, 30, a television repairman, lost "his nerve for the first time Sunday since his arrest a week ago. Shouts at Jailers "What do you think I am- a freak?" he shouted angrily at his jailers as they kept a close watch on him to pre vent a possible suicide try. "Everybody who 'comes by this cell stops and looks at me, ne complained. They look at me and watch me all the time." It was the first break of the confessed killer's nerve. All last week he matter of factly told detectives a de praved tale of forcing his at tractive victims to pose in the nude before killing them and dumping their bodies in the desert. His victims, Ruth Rita Mer cado, 24, and Judy Ann Dull, 19, both models, and Mrs. Shirley Ann Bridgeford, 24, divorcee-mother of two chil dren and lonely hearts club member, were killed during a period from August, 1957, to last July. Posed as Photographer Glatman said he met the models by posing as an ama teur photographer. He killed Mrs. Bridgeford, whom he met through a lonely hearts club, and Miss Mercado in a barren desert area in San Diego county, he told police. The problem of where Glat man should be tried arose be cause the crimes occurred in different counties.
