Christian Circles To Hold Meetings Crater High School Circles of the Women's Fel lowship of First 'Christian church will meet Thursday, October 23. ' Circle 3 will meet at the home of- Mrs. Wayne Troxell, 1833 South Peach street at 10 A.M. A covered dish lunch eon will be held at noon. Cir cle 4 will meet at the church at 10 A.M. to work on bazaar items. Every one is to bring a sack lunch. Circle 5 will meet at the home of Mrs. Chester Peter son, 907 Beall lane at 10 A.M. Members are to bring a sack lunch and dessert and coffee will be furnished. Circle 1 will meet with Mrs. Mabyl Buchanan, Route 4, Box 393,, at 1 P.M. for dessert. Circle 2 will meet with Mrs. J. H. Hopkins, 113 N. King, 109 East McAndrews road, were honored at an open house October 11 which observed their golden wedding anniversary. The Kings have lived in Oregon since 1909, and in Medford since 1942. (Brainerd photo) Music Teachers Slate Meeting Rogue Valley chapter of the Oregon Music Teachers association will meet Monday, October 20, at 7:45 p.m. at the home of Mrs.. Kenneth Brown, 1505 Wilson place, Medford. A discussion and resume of teaching materials which will be used for the auditions and syllabus' examinations to be held in the spring is schedul ed. Mrs. Edla Peterson of Ashland will base her outline from the state course of study for piano as issued by Rex Putnam, superintendent o f public instruction. She will cover teaching materials for pre-school and beginning chil dren as well as high school levels and practical theory and techniques. ' Sherry Baker and Helen McKee will play. A golden wedding anniver sary reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Elmer King, 109 East McAndrews road, Med ford, was held October 11 at their home. The event was at tended by more than 45 rela tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. King were married October 10, 1908, at Troy, Kansas, moving to Cor vallis in 1909: They also lived in Alpine, Ore. and in Coos county before moving to Med ford in July 1942 where Mr. King was employed at Med ford, corporation. Attending the reception were the King's two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil King, Rockleigh, N.J. and Mr. and Mrs. Ira King of Areata, Calif. William King and Wayne King, grand sons of the honored couple, also attended. Mrs. William Kong the former Shirley" Coop er of Medford, also attended with their two daughters. Among the out - of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Les ter Ogden, Klamath Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mast, Rose burg, and their three children; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Helsel, Lyons, and two daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thorn, Bandon, and two daughters; Christmas Craft, Project Planned For Two Groups Christmas Crafts will be the project demonstrated at two Home Extension units meetings this week. The groups will meet Tuesday, Oc tober 21,-at 10:30 a.m. The Shady Cove unit will meet at the home of Mrs. Lew is C. Dusenberry. The Sams Valley group will meet at the home of Mrs. John Eckerman, Duggan lane, with project leaders Mrs. Edgar Pleasant, Mrs. Milton Sander son, and Mrs. Herman Priem. The leaders will also hold workshops at a later date. Luncheon hostesses will be Mrs. George Lof tin, Mrs. Pleasant, Mrs: Lester James, Mrs. Sanderson, Mrs. Priem, Mrs. Ralph Ellis, and Mi's. Je rome Fitzgerald.. Those at tending are reminded to take their own table service. Medford Woman Receives Office; Reception Held . Mrs. Roy V. Nordwick, 226 Ross Lane North. Medford, was elected president of the Southern Oregon Association Order of Eastern Star,, at a meeting in, Giendale Sunday, Octiber 12. Taking office with Mrs. Norwick are Mrs. Jack Doud, Myrtle Creek, vice pres ident; Mrs. Mildred Roude bush, Grants Pass, secretary, and Mrs. Phyllis Rutledge, Klamath Falls, treasurer. A group of members from Reames chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, attended a recep tion for Mrs. Mattie Herman, grand conductress of . the grand chapter of Oregon, in Seaside October 11. Making the trip were Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Randolph, Mrs. Roy V. Nordwick, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Boughner and daughter, Mikelyn. V ' ' Election Slated By Townsend Club Election of officers will be held at a meeting of Medford Townsend club Wednesday, October 22, at Carpenters' hall. . Club members having Oc tober birthdays will be hon ored. Plans also will be made to hold a Halloween costume parade and special program on the last Wednesday in October. The class is designed to offer working women an evening class in exercise and physical fitness and will be followed by a class in the swimming pool with the same purpose in mind. Women who cannot attend the regular classes during the day are encouraged to enroll in these. The gymnasium class will be Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and the 'swimming class at 8:30 p.m. Information on the classes, or other YMCA activities, may be obtained by calling the YMCA at SPring 2-6295, or calling at the building, 522 West Sixth street.
