Ord, Calif., where he com pleted his eight-week basic training. He will be a guest in the home of his parents, Temporary Repairs Made at Library With the completion of tem porary repairs to the floor the junior department of the Medford Public library will be ready for reopening in its own quarters on Monday, Oct. 6. Opening hours will be from 1:30 until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Satur days. The children's room will also be kept open as formerly on Tuesdays from 6:30 until 9 p.m. so families may visit the library together on the li brary's "family night." Visitors to the junior room will be assisted by Mrs. Cyn thia McKay and Miss Rose mary Stevenson. A permanent solution to the library's floor problem will -be postponed until the next fiscal year. Benjamin Harrison, Ind., to begin a four months training in stenography school. He was among seniors grad uating from Crater High school in Central Point last June. Prior to his enlistment he served for five months with the Army reserve unit in Medford. Jerry said that while in Ft. Ord he talked with four for mer Central Point youths who also were among his graduat ing class at Crater. They are taking basic training at Ft. Ord. They are Jim Clough, Donald Savage, Loren Geb hard, and Bill Moore. Mrs. V. H. Croxton and daughter, Miss Alice Croxton, have returned to their home in Sams Valley following three weeks in California. Mrs. Croxton was a guest in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Strickland, San Luis Obispo. The Stricklands are the parents of a son. Joel Da vid, born Aug. 29. He is the Croxton's third grandson. Mrs. Strickland is the former Miss Gloria Croxton. Her husband is a student at California Insti tute of Technology. Miss Alice Croxton visited in the Bay area, and was a guest of Mrs. Marian Tish, who is well-known in the Sams Valley area. The Rev. John Roelfs and son, Paul, of Medford, were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Gribble, Fifth ave., Gold Hill, Tuesday evening, Sept. 30. Mr. Roelfs is pastor of the Sams Valley Community church in Sams Valley. Prior to the dinner, the Roelfs were calling on friends in Sams Valley. The stegosaurus, a prehis toric dinosaur, was 30 feet long and had a heavily armed body and tiny head.
