Eden, purchasing agent of The California Oregon Power company, wHI be honored at a breakfast this morning, a luncheon Wednesday and a formal tea ' . next Sunday afternoon. To portray the theme 'of the 1958 National Business Women's week "More Power with Woman Power," three members of the Medford Business and Professional Women's club posed for a muscle-flexing picture. Pictured (left to right) are Mrs. Ethel Tennant, Mrs. Georgia White and Mrs. Jean Mast, president of the local group. Using a combination of brains, education and hard work, women of the United States have achieved many successes in the business and professional world in recent years. Through such organizations as BPWC they seek to promote the interests of all business and pro fessional women, and to elevate the standards of women by way of educational, industrial and vocational activity programs. 1 ,2 ; J 4-'iV"" 'VS-- "V I - - I , " ""'j The annual membership campaign of Jackson County Civic Music association opens Monday, October 6, and John Udry of the national association is here to supervise the. drive. Mr. Udry is shown here with Mrs. Karl Peterson, Ashland divisipn chairman for 'the drive. A dinner Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Jackson hotel will bring -together Civic Music workerst from all parts of the county, 'and Mr. Udry will speak. This year's division chairmen are Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Charles J. Freeman,' Mrs. John Dellenback, Mrs. Harold L. Gilbert, Mrs. H. Dewey Wilson, Mrs. Fred Lewis and Mrs. Kenneth L. Brown. Miss Blanche Thebom, noted American mezzo-soprano, will appear in a concert in Medford this win ter for Jackson County Civic Music association. Miss Thebom, considered one of the world's most . talented concert stars, has been lauded by critics and audiences alike in many cities. Last season Miss Thebom sang for Queen Elizabeth II of England, and was honored by receiving the Order of Vasa from Sweden's Queen Louise. Jackson County Civic Music association officers gathered at the home of Seth M. Bullis, chairman, Monday to plan the annual membership campaign, which opens tomorrow. Pictured with Mr. Bullis are (at right) Mrs. Paul Dix, campaign chairman, and Mrs. Leland Mentzer, association secretary. The association has already announced two outstanding concert attractions for the coming season. The widely known dance team of Goya and Matteo will appear here Monday, October 13, just' after the close of the drive, and the famous soprano, Miss Blanche Thebom, will give a concert here in February. 111 liifwVrf'Kp.
