Voters' League Sheets Available A voters' Information sheet is again available to Jackson county voters, and an election-information program is being prepared to civic, serv ice and church groups on re quest, Mrs. Thomas Rutter, voter service chairman of the Medford League of Women Voters, has announced. The voters' information sheet, prepared by the state League of Women Voters, con tains an explanation of, and pro and con material on the 13 measures which will ap pear on the November ballot. The material has been check ed for fairness and accuracy by the Reed college division of history and social science, Mrs. Rutter said. ' The sheets are on sale at 10 cents per copy at the Re publican and Democratic headquarters, she said, or may be obtained for sale to groups by telephoning Mrs. Rutter at SPring 3-4827. Core of the election - in formation program is a skit illustrating the need for coun ty home rule in Oregon, she said. Mrs. Ben Day, local chairman of the state league committee for county home rule, appears with the skit to answer questions on the pro posed constitutional amend ment. Amusement Park Mishap Kills Girl Los Angeles -(CPU-A kiddie train, carrying children on an outing overturned Sunday night at a commercial amuse ment center, killing a 6-year- old girl and injuring seven others. Police said the train over turned when it struck a steel bar left or tossed on the tracks smashed into a fence and then righted itself. The passengers were spilled to the ground. Patrice Hurst, riding with her mother, Mrs. Sydney Hurst, 25, and brother, Errol, 7, was cut about the head and neck and apparently bled to death. Mrs. Hurst and her son suf fered cuts and bruises. She was hospitalized at General Hospital in shock over the accident and the death of Pa trice. Errol was released after treatment at an emer gency hospital. Princess Margaret To Visit Brussels Brussels - CPD - Britain's Princess Margaret flies here today to dine with bachelor King Baudouin, visit the World's Fair and take a look at the city from where Peter Townsend courted her. The dashing ex - fighter pilot was a long way off, however. He is in Africa, en route to even more distant parts, on his second trip around the world for a docu mentary movie company. The princess was greeted on arrival by Prince Albert, 25, a bachelor as is his broth er, Baudouin. In order to hide them until Monday, she stuck them in the broiler of her stove at home. ' " Sunday morning she got up as usual and turned on the oven. Gold Beach Slash Fire Under Control Gold Beach-UPD-A stub born slash fire that burned for three days in the Saun ders Creek area just south of the Rogue river over about 3500 acres was brought under control by firefighters Sun day afternoon. Ivan Young, State Forestry Department district warden, said mopping, up operations would begin today. The fire broke out Friday two miles east of Gold Beach. About 100 men battled the flames Three Slightly Hurt In Crash of C119 Portland (UPD A twin-en gined C-119 Flying Boxcar crash-landed at Portland In ternational Airport Saturday evening alter its ngnt mam gear collapsed. The three men aboard walked away with mi nor injuries. The airmen were the pilot, Capt. Richard D. Howlett, 39, Longview, Wash.; Capt. Don Packard, 29, co-pilot, and Richard K. Lovelady, airman 1-C of Portland. The three men were treated at the air base hospital and re leased. The trio was returning from a trip to Geiger Air Base at Spokane. The gear collapsed when the plane touched down just short of the pavement on runway 28, the main landing strip at the airport. Brando and Wife Silent on Rumors Hollywopd-(DPD-Actor Mar lon Brando and his wife, ac tress Anna Kashfi, weren't talking today but the actor's aunt denied London reports the couple had separated. As late as Saturday, Mrs. Bette Lindemayer said every thing seemed all right in the Brando household. She said she had talked to her nephew then. "Such a report must be in correct," she said. "And after speaking to him, I'm sure that I'd know if all were not well.-" Reports from London were that Brando and Miss Kashfi had parted since their Japan ese maid drowned in their . swimming pool several weeks ago. Central Point Man Hurt in Auto Mishap . Noble Brown, route 1, Box 276, Central Point, was in jured Sunday when his car struck a metal light pole at the intersection of Pine st. and Highway 99 at Central Point, local police reported. Brown received a broken nose and considerable dam age was done to his car, but none to the pole, police said: He was attempting to turn onto the highway to drive south toward Medford, offi cers said.
