He has two everyday names. Some of these birds are 40 inches long, with tails measuring 26 inches in length. When they float in the air over the sea on a hot summer day, they look as though they are green birds because they catch the color of the water and sky. But they really aren't green. They use their long tails to steer by and, oh, how beautifully they can dive down into' the water for fish! Their nests are made in cracks in the rocks or on the sand. The mother and father take turns sitting on the one spotted egg. They cannot stand up when they are on land so they shuffle along on their breasts. It is a shame that these beautiful birds have such harsh voices! Many of them live in the tropical parts of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
