Peifarson (Brainerd photo) Peterson-Martin Rites Held at Lutheran Church Miss Alice Mae Martin became the bride of David H. Peterson in a marriage ceremony held September 13 at Zion Lutheran church. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Martin, 1386 Hilton road, and Mrs. and Mrs. David L. Peterson, 1409 South Whitman avenue, are parents of the bridegroom. The Rev. H. C. Coovert read the candlelight service at eight o'clock in the even ing. Curtis Fiedler, Klamath Falls, was soloist and Douglas Stewart was at the church organ. White and pink spider chry santhemums in baskets dec orated the church and the pew ends were adorned with bows. Mr. Martin gave his daugh ter in marriage. She wore a waltz length gown of Chan tilly lace over white tulle and satin and her veil was held by a crown of seed pearls. She carried white gladiolus centered with pink rose buds. Miss Susan Martin was her sister's honor attendant and bridesmaids were another sister. Miss Sarah Martin, and Miss Leilani Kunkel, a cousin. They wore pink sheath frocks of brocaded taffeta and pink tulle head - dresses held by pink velvet bows. Their flow ers were white Ester Reed daisies and pink rosebuds. Miss Kristine Peterson, sister of the bridegroom, was candlelighter. Her pink gown was identical to that of the other attendants. Clayton Peterson was best man for his brother and ushers were Richard Brown and Bruce Rawlins. Nicholas Schuhorn, Portland, was ring bearer. Mrs. Verl Burdick, Port land, cut the wedding cake and Mrs. Lee Schuhorn, Port land, poured coffee. Mrs. B. Budge was at the punch bowl. The bride's mother wore a pink lace and taffeta dress with white accessories and corsage of rose - colored or c h i d s. The bridegroom's mother wore a beige dress with matching accessories and pink orchids. Here for the wedding were the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Julias A. Nelson, San Diego, Calif.; Verl Bur dick, Portland; and Mrs. A. C. Warner, great - aunt of the bride from Happy Camp, Calif. Mr. Peterson and his bride spent their honeymoon on the Oregon coast and will live at 7481 Fourth street, Medford. The bride wore for traveling a light blue chemise frock. The bride, a graduate of Medford High school and Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, will be on the staff of Rogue Valley hospital after October 13 as a surgical nurse. Mr. Peterson served in the United States Navy after graduation from Medford High school and is Phone SP 2-7169 Woman Editor To Speak Here Emily Kimbrough, manag ing editor of the Ladies Home Journal, will open the 1958-59 season for Rogue Val ley Knife and Fork club. Miss Kimbrough will speak at a dinner meeting Tuesday, Oct ober 7, at Rogue Valley Coun- In addition to her work, first as fashion editor for Marshall Field in Chicago and later as fashion editor and managing editor of the Jour nal, Miss Kimbrough is prob ably better known as an auth or. Her book, "Forty Plus and Fancy Free" was writter af ter a trip through Europe with three friends, the four being described as "youthful grandmothers" and later she teamed up with the actress, Cornelia Otis Skinner, to write "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay." The book was made into a movie, with the two authors as technical advisors. Mrs. Richard House, secre tary of the dinner club, states that reservations must be made by October 3. Members are to make checks to Rogue Valley Country club, and mail them to Mrs. House at 15 Corning court. She emphasiz ed that no reservations will be accepted after October 3. Oriental Dinner Given by Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Paul Norris, 1481 Ridgeway drive, gave a Japanese dinner September 13 for 27 guests. The dinner was prepared by Mrs. Norris and her sister, Miss Elaine Leach, who recently returned home after spending a year in Japan as a teacher. It was served in the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Roger 157 Clover lane. Mrs. Norris and Miss Leach cooked the dinner at the long, low table around which the guests were seated on cush ions. Using the "hibachi," tra ditional Japanese table stove, they cooked suki-yaki with rice balls and served as side dishes raw fish, whale meat, smoked octupus and other del icacies enjoyed by the orient als. Sake was the beverage. The hostesses wore Japan ese costumes. Following the dinner, Miss Leach showed pictures taken during her year in Japan. f Ashland Rector To Be Speaker The Rev. John L. Thomp son, rector of Trinity Epis copal church, Ashland, will speak, for the next meeting of the Women's auxiliary, St. Mark's Episcopal church. It will be held Friday, Septem ber 26. Holy communion will be celebrated at 11 a.m., and luncheon will be served at 12 noon. The Rev. David LeRoy D'Olivo (Classic photo) Carol Jean Risner Bride Of David LeRoy D'Olivo Miss Carol Jean Risner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olen Risner, 611 South Holly street, became the bride of David LeRoy D'Olivo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pio D'Olivo, Klamath Falls, in a ceremony held September 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. John Ilg officiated at the double ring nuptial mass held . at 10 o'clock in the morning. Yellow gladiolus decorated the church for the event and Bruno Pellegrini played the organ wedding music. The bride wore a white Chantilly lace gown over white satin fashioned with fitted bodice and full skirt which formed a chapel train. Seed pearls outlined the scooped neckline of the dress and trimmed the short lace mitts. Her fingertip length veil was held by a white vel vet crown and she carried a cascade bouquet of yellow rosebuds. -Mr. Risner escorted his daughter to the altar; Miss Donna Eskew, Gold Hill, was honor attendant and bridesmaid and matron were Miss Elaine Zier and Mrs. Barbara Owings, Ashland. They wore yellow brocade frocks with yellow chiffon sashes and matching picture hats and carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums. Lit tle Keeta Swinford, Roseburg, was flower girl and Donald D'Olivo, Klamath Falls, broth er of , the bridegroom, was ring bearer. The flower girl wore a yellow brocade frock and carried a basket of bronze chrysanthemums. Angelo Giovannini, Prine vjlle, served as best man for his nephew.. Michael Runge, Redding, Calif., and Dino Reginato, Klamath Falls, seat ed the guests. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Risner wore a cocoa brown lace sheath dress with matching hat and brown ac cessories. Her corsage was of yellow rosebuds. Mrs. D'Olivo chose a navy blue brocade sheath dress with blue acces sories and a corsage of white rosebuds. Autumn Fashions To Be Modeled For Jaycettes. Central Point Central Point Jaycettes will view fall clothing from Pauline's Fash ions at a meeting Wednesday, September 24, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Milton Gor don, 715 East Pine street. Mrs. Keith Johnson and Mrs. John Deuel will be host esses. A mother daughter banquet for October 8 was discussed at the last meeting of the group. Banquet committee in cludes Mrs. Wallace West, chairman, Mrs. Richard Bart ley, and Mrs. Bruce Turner. Following the business meeting a costume sack party was held with Mrs. Irma Squire winning ,the funniest costume prize. Mrs. Donald Miller, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. John Chisholm presided at the punch bowl while Mrs. Hanns Meier and Mrs. W. W. Wil liams poured the coffee. Mrs. Donald Cullop and Miss Ra mona Baugh were at the gift tables and Miss Delora Dunn was in charge of the guest book. The couple are making their home at 401 Beach street, Ashland, following a wedding trip up the Oregon coast to Portland. For her traveling attire the bride wore a brown sheath dress with straw colored accessories and a yellow rosebud corsage. Honored Queen Of Grand Bethel Medford Visitor Miss Janice Williams, Grants Pass, honored queen of grand bethel of Oregon, visited Bethel 14, Internation al Order of Job's Daughters, here Wednesday evening. She reported on the supreme guardian council session which she attended in Phoe nix, Ariz. Reports of bethel activi ties were given. Mother and Son To Leave Tuesday Mrs. William Barlow and son, Michael Jeffry, will leave Tuesday, September 23 by plane for Ludwigsburg, Germany, where they will join her husband, Pfc. Wil liam Barlow, who is on duty there with the United States Army. Mrs. Barlow, the former Sharon "Whitlock, and her son were honored at a family din ner given in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitlock, 1425 Crater Lake ave. September 14. Attending were Mrs. Whitlock's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Quinn, Gold Hill, and the Whitlock's son and daughter-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Whitlock, who left Medford, Saturday, September 20, to make their home in Portland. Mr. Whit lock will continue his studies at the University of Oregon Dental college. Mrs. Whitlock will be em ployed as a dental assistant. and close friends of the couple following the wedding recep tion. The bride attended Medford High school and Southern Oregon college and is employ ed as a secretary at the Gen. eral Adjustment Bureau in Medford.
