Cited -Eugene Leroi Gar ner, 1011 West 11th st., was cited by Medford city police Monday morning for not hav ing an operator's license fol lowing a two vehicle collision at the intersection of East 11th st. and South Central ave. ' Dog Killed-A 4-month-old mongrel owned by Virginia Esther Moore, 1006 Saling st., was struck and killed Sunday afternoon by an unidentified vehicle which failed to stop, Medford police reported. The accident occurred near the in tersection of Mae and Saling sts., police said. Permits - Two building per mits for $1,000 each were is sued by the city building de partment Monday. They were issued to Clark Fernland, 212 Elm st., for the addition of a room to his residence, and Robert Kanopasek, 1304 Beat ty st., to move a building and place it on a foundation. Dismissed A traffic cita tion against John Colton Sel lers, 690 South Modoc ave., issued Aug. 7 for improperly passings a city water depart ment vehicle as it ma'de a left turn, was dismissed in mu nicipal court recently before Judge Noreen Kelly. The two vehicles collided, Medford po lice reported. Collision-Vehicles operated by Pauline Rae , Thompson, 410 North Ivy st., and Kath ryn Elizabeth Anders, 57 Quince st., collided at the in tersection of Fifth and Bart lett sts. Monday about 12:40 p.m., according to city police. Kathryn Anders was cited by police for failing to yield right of way. - ,- Teamsters Vote To Settle Strike Portland -(UPD- Members of the Teamsters union here, vot ed Monday to approve a con tract proposal to settle the union's strick - lockout in 11 western states. Floyd Mendenhall, secre tary of Teamster local 81 in Portland, said over the road and sleeper cab drivers voted acceptance by a "big majori ty" and city pickup and de livery drivers agreed to the proposal by a three -to -one vote. The terms of the contract have not been released. Unofficial! .reports from other Teamster locals in Ore gon indicated that the con tract was being accepted by members. The terms were reached in negotiations last week in San Francisco. Man Arrested Here On Bend Warrant Doyle Dwayne Trapp, Bend, Ore., formerly of Medford, was confined in the Jackson county jail this morning on a Bend warrant for writing a check with insufficient funds. Trapp was arrested by Med ford city police when he went to the police station to check on a warrant he heard had been issued for his arrest. He is being held for Bend authorities. Permit-A Medford building permit was issued Sept. 15 to the Rogue Valley .Country club, for $2,100 in office re modeling. Nails-A handful of galva nized shingle nails were tak en Sunday night from Gra ham Cabinet shop, 824 North Riverside ave., accord ing to Medford police. Inspections - Fire Marshal Truman Nelson inspected six business occupancies and one building of public assembly yesterday. Eleven orders or recommendations for remo val of fire hazards were is sued. s Industrials To All-Time High New York MDPD Industrial shares mounted to a new all times high today to lead the stock market higher on in creased volume. Steels led the upturn which was participated in heavily by such issues as the metals, rails, motors and miscellan eous issues. Oil issues joined the rise with more vigor and strength than for a long time. Gains in the oils ranged to more than two points with several of the group in new high ground. American Motors and Gen eral Motors led the market in turnover. These issues firmed. Chrysler at its high showed a gain of more than two points. Indications were that Team sters were voting overwhelm ingly to approve a settlement reached late last week be tween the Teamsters and em- i ployerscovering the 11 West ern states. Representatives of the West ern Conference of Teamsters were to meet here Wednes day with leaders of eight trucking associations to sign agreements covering long line and pickup and delivery drivers. The dispute began Aug. 11 when 2350 California Team sters went on strike. Employ ers ordered an 11-state lock out in retaliation. Two Men Bound Over to Grand Jury Ross Birdsell Best, 343 B st., Ashland, appeared before District Court Judges James Main yesterday on charges of grand larceny and was bound over to the grand jury. He is being held in the Jackson county jail on $1,500 bail. Best is charged with tak ing checks and currency Mon day valued at $265 from Har old J.. Strauss and E. J.
