(Anders photo) Betrothal News Told at Dinner Saturday Night The engagement of Miss Chloe Fairweather to Joseph , Erkenbrecher was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fairweather, 3013 Dark Hollow road, at a dinner party August 30. Mr. Erkenbrecher is a son of Dr. and Mrs. Rob ert Moon, Modesto, Calif. The Moons were among the guests attending the" dinner; having flown up for the week end. Miss Fairweather is a grad uate of the Katherine Branson school in Ross. Calif., and at tended the University of Ore gon where she was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority. During her junior year she studied at the University for Foreigners in Perugia, Italy and the Univer sity of Rome. Mr. Erkenbrecher is a grad uate of Menlo . Boys' school, Menlo Park, Calif., and the University of Oregon where he was affiliated with Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He is now serving with the U. S. Ma rine Corps in Norfolk, Va. Among the 35 guests at tending the event were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Parker of Melbourne, Australia. The wedding is planned for late January. ' . 4 - The quarterly, meeting of the. Han son, former executive of Cra ter Lake council, Boy Scouts of America, have been invited to attend an open house for Mr; and Mrs. Hanson on Sun day, September 14. The event will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Judson -W.- Compton, 1416 Whitman avenue, Medford, from 2 to 5 p.m. Mr. Compton is the present scout executive of the fcrater Lake council, which serves Jackson, Jose phine, and Siskiyou counties. Mr. Hanson, who served the three - county scout council from 1948 to 1956, is now deputy regional scout execu tive for the Boy Scouts of America and lives in St. Paul, Minn. Committee for the open house includes Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Church, chairmen, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McDougall, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Eddy, Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Gladf elter, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Central eorfnental. elegance Judith Gayle To David Boyce Parker Central Point Miss Judith Gayle Davis became the bride of David Boyce Parker' in a ceremony held Thursday eve ning, "August 28," at' First Methodist church in Medford. Dr, G. G. Roseberjy officiated at the 8 o'clock double-ring ceremony' attended by more than 200 guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Davis, 444 Manza nita street, Central Point. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Parker, Lamp man road, Gold Hill. The church was decorated with giant-size dahlias in shades of orange, tangerine and yellow in white baskets, and white candelabra held lighted white tapers. Bows of white satin and white Ester Reed daisies were at the new ends. Soloist was Mrs. C. Norman Gail, Gold Hill. Mrs. Alice Boardman, Medford, played the organ. Gowned in Lace Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore 'a gown of white imported French Chantilly lace and tulle over white satin. It was fashioned with a scalloped bateau neck line, long sleeves and close fitting bodice. Lace panels formed the billowing floor length skirt that fell into a cathedral train. The bride de signed her gown. Her finger tip veil of silk illusion, held in place by a Princess Grace crown of rhinestones, seed pearls and sequins, was loaned by Mrs. Gordon Tlekvold, Central Point, whose second wedding anniversary was that day. The bride's white bro cade satin shoes with rhine stone buckles were a gift from her aunt, Mrs. A. M. Hubbard, Whittier. Calif.. Her pearl and filigree gold necklace was a gift from the bridegroom. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis on a white Bible, loaned by the bridegroom's nine-year-old sister, Linda Parker. For "something old" the bride wore an heirloom wed ding band on her right hand with diamonds that have been worn by four generations' of the bride's family. The ring was loaned by her mother. The bride was married in the1 church of which she is a member and where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. George Juveland, Cen tral Point was matron-of-honor. Mrs. Richard Davis, Medford, was bridesmatron and Linda Parker, sister of the bridegroom was junior bridesmaid. Mrs. Juveland wore a pale orange-ice chif fon frock over matching taf feta, designed with short sleeves, a neckline dipping in back and bouffant ballerina skirt with matching chiffon cummerbund and Icing sash. Her headdress of tangerine tulle matched her gloves and slippers and she carried white Ester Reed daisies. Mrs. Davis and Linda Par ker wore identical tangerine taffeta frocks styled similar to Mrs. Juveland's, with cum merbunds and sashes of orange-ice chiffon, and tan gerine headdresses and gloves. They carried white Ester Reed daisies. Two 'Candlelighters Candlelighters were Miss Sandra Guss and Miss Carole von der Hellen, Central Point. -They wore tangerine taffeta frocks, styled as the other at tendants, with cummerbunds of orange-ice chiffon and a bandeau of tangerine taffeta. Their wrist bouquets were white daisies. , The attendants wore the bride's gifts of pearl and gold necklaces. : Ring bearer was Jack Del ton Pullins, cousin of the bride. - James Byrnes, Gold Hill, served as best man for the bridegroom. LPs hers were George Juveland and Robert Lance, Gold Hill. . ' A reception was given in the social room of the church. The white lace-covered table was centered with an ar rangement of miniature lem bn yellow chrysanthemums, which encircled the wedding cake and lemon yellow tapers in crystal holders flanked the centerpiece. Bouquets of miniature dahl ias in shades of orange and yellow completed the decora tions. Mrs. L. C. Gorden, as sisted by Mrs. Steven Bens ton, were in charge of all floral arrangements for the wedding and reception. Aunt Cuts Cake Mrs. A. M. Vonder Sommen, Long Beach, aunt of J:he bride, ' and Mrs. George Dorman, Gold Hill. Miss Joan Morris, Gold Hill, attended the guest book. Mrs. O. L. Morse, aunt of the bride and Mrs. Frank Josephson, were in charge of the gift table. The bride's mother wore a princess style aquamarine lace frock over matching taffeta with a white feather hat. Her corsage was white and pink roses. The bridegroom's moth er wore a two-piece dress maker silk print suit of royal and navy blue with velvet trim and navy blue velvet hat. Her gold and turquoise ear rings were brought to her from Paris for the wedding by Mrs. E. J. Reed, Alameda, Calif., great-aunt of the bride groom who returned in Au gust from a tour of Europe. Her corsage was pink and white roses. Guests included A. M. Hub bard and son, Peter, Whittier, Calif., A. M. Vonder Sommen and .daughter, Diane, : Long Beach, Calif., two great-aunts of the bridegroom, Mrs. L. D. Peters, Castroville, and Mrs. E. J. Reed, Alameda; his cousins, Mrs. J. D. Jeters Jr. and children Lynn and David, Pleasant Hills, Calif., and Mrs. Noel Kellogg, Salem, Ore: To Portland The newlyweds traveled to Portland and Salem for their wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a white shark skin chemise dress with red accessories and the orchid from her bridal corsage. ' The couple will reside at Route 1, Box 92 J, Gold Hill. The bride is a 1958 graduate of Crater High school where she was a menber of the Na tional Honor society for two years, member of Quill and Scroll and for two years was Comette drill leader. She is now employed as secretary and clerk for the city of Cen tral Point. He is now employed at Ander's Photo shop, Medford. Medford Couple Set Wedding Day The approaching wedding of Miss Bergliot Larsen and Walter G. Garner was an nounced last week. The mar riage has been set for Novem ber 1 in Medford. Miss Larsen is administra tor of Rogue Valley Memorial hospital and Mr. Garner is vice-president of Cal-Ore Ma chinery . company. Miss Lar sen, a daughter of Mrs. Johan nes Larsen, 705 Dakota ave nue, attended Northwestern university and has . been in hospital work since 1941. : Mr. Garner, whose home is at 2009 East Main street, is a member of Medford Rotary cluh, on the board of Rogue Valley Memorial hospital, of the Salvation Army and a board member of Rogue Val ley Manor. . Charles Rease Braley Jr., of the United States Navy, with Mrs. Braley and their three children, are in Med ford as guests of Lieutenant Braley's father, C. Rease Bra ley, and Mrs. Braley, Valley View drive. The children are Charles Rase III, Elizabeth Prince and William. The Braleys came here from Japan, where the officer has been on duty with the Navy. Monday they will leave for Pennsylvania, where Lieutan- ant Braley will receive addi tional training. The family will live near Philadelphia. Saturday night the visitors were honored at a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Allen R. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Nor ton Smith and Mr. and Mrs Morris Leonard Jr. Friday noon Mrs. Braley honored her daughter-in-law at a luncheon given at the Colony club. Johnson, 120 Washington street, Medford, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rosalie, to James Allen Cook sey, formerly of Medford and now' of Phoenix, Ariz. Miss Johnson is a graduate of Medford High school and is employed as a bookkeeper at the First National Bank of Oregon, Medford branch. She was a former queen of Inter national Order of Job's Daugh ter, Bethel 14. Mr. Cooksey is also a graduate of Medford High school and attended Southern Oregon college where he majored in business administration. He plans to en roll in Arizona State college, Tempe, this fall. No date has been set for the wedding.
