Fishermen Find Lost 9-Year-0ld Porterville. Calif. -171 A barefoot 9-year-old Mojave, Calif., boy. missing 33 hours in the High Sierras, was found alive "and in good health" last night by two fish erman. Tulare county Sheriff San dy Robinson' said the boy George Miller, wandered into the camp of the two men at the junction of the Kern river and Cottonwood creek. Fishermen Bob Jones and Lester Hutson said he came to their camp site, some 20 miles from Johnsondale where he was separated from his par ents Friday. They turned him over to rangers from the Sequoia National forest. Robinson said the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis H. Miller, would probably see their son again at a Porterville hos pital, where the rangers plan ned to take him. An area-wide search began after George turned up miss ing, but quickly centered around the rugged Kern river canyon when it appeared he was following the river down stream. Although ilghtly clad, George was in good condi tion. Temperatures were mild and he was able to make more than a mile an hour on his trek, Robinson said. Duchess, and also won junior and sen ior champion with other cows in her herd. f Eisenhower Signs Klamath Timber Bill Washington (ITU Presi dent Eisenhower yesterday signed into law a bill calling for the sustained yield cut ting of Klamath Indian tim ber by private purchasers. The measure provides for Federal purchase of that por tion of the vast timber stand that is not bought by private interests. The bill was spon sored by Sen. Richard L. Neu berger (D-Ore.) after it was introduced at the administra tion's request. Chicago Not Holding Up to 'Windy City' Chicago TPD A Chicago born advertising executive doesn't want his home town called the "Windy City" any more. He insists it doesn't de serve the title. Harry Cohen breezed into the local weather bureau to find out how Chicago ranks as far as wind speed is con cerned. Statistics for 1957 showed: New York was the windiest city with a mean hourly speed of 9.8 miles. Chicago was 19th on the list. Even Philadelphia, Cleveland and Miami were gustier. X-Ray Reveals Old, Healed Bullet Wound Buffalo, N. Y. 'CPU Hom er Dickson, 53, couldn't un derstand it when an X-ray re vealed an old. healed bullet wound in his chest and the bullet still inside. "I don't ever remember being shot," Dickson insisted, and since the slug wasn't bothering him, the doctors de cided to let it stay there. HIGHER EDUCATION Columubs, Ohio (UPT Dr. Leo A. Teamster Officials Escape Indictments Portland (UPD Circuit Judge James R. Bain Friday dismissed two perjury indict ments against Teamster union officials Clyde C. Crosby and Frank E. Malloy on motion of the attorney general's office. Assistant Attorney General Arthur Higgs told the court there was insufficient evi d e n c e to prosecute the charges which grew out of the Portland vice investiga tion. The dismissals brought to 92 the number of cases thrown out for lack of evi dence out of 116 indictments returned in the marathon probe into the city's under world. The state has won one conviction and got one guilty plea since the campaign start ed and 18 indictments remain to be prosecuted.
