Close Competition Observed In 4-H Beef Showmanship Marsha Watson, West Side Club and Steve Stewart of Sis-Q club topped the Beef Showmanship at the Jackson County 4-H and F.F.A. fair held at the County fair grounds in Medford this week. In what was very close competition, Marsha, with her jet black Angus, topped all comers in the steer division of the showmanship contest according to Glenn Klein, county 4-H agent. Steve, with his white faced Hereford cow, had some 111' competition as he beat out Ronnie Anderson and Geor gia Hubbard of Antelope for the female showmanship tro phy. Beef Fitting found Judy Bradshaaw of Antelope, Nan cy Lusk of Sis-Q and Jon Jennings of Central Point topping their respective classes as they showed their skill with the curry comb and brush while they fitted their animals in the ring be fore the watchful eye of the judge. Susan Wright Tops 4-H Lamb Division Susan Wright of the Oak Grove district in Medford showed one of her wooly Southdown lambs to the champion in the showman ship division at the 4-H sheep show at the fairgrounds in Medford. In the largest show manship contest in the sheep show ever held at the fair in Jackson County she top ped over 115 exhibitors to win the championship, ac cording to Glenn Klein, coun ty 4-H agent. His registered Corriedale fleece was the best exhibit,- according to the judge, Bruce Arnold, of Pacific Wool Grow ers. He said it was one of the nicest fleeces he has seen in some time. State police said Mrs. Hen dricks was northbound when her vehicle went off the east shoulder of the highway about a mile north of Rock Point bridge. The car skidded for more than 200 feet along the side of the road, went back onto the highway and slid for 40 feet sideways along the pavement, and then rolled over and came to rest on its wheels, officers said. .
