Anacortes, La Conner and Friday Harbor Tuesday morning as the first steps of a fishermen's strike for high er prices. -Local 3 President John Johnson of Seattle told more thPn 200 fishermen in Bell ingham Tuesday that canners refused to consider bargain ing for a price adjustment. He said the canners' figure of 25 cents per pound for sockeye represents an 18 per cent cut in wages despite ris ing living costs. , Fishermen are asking for 31 cents per pound, one cent higher than 1957's figure of 30 cents per pound.
