Seo Youths Disappear
Barry Belisle, a 10-year-old
Ontario youth, said that
while swimming near Dobbs
island about a mile north of
Ontario's city limits he saw
the Maillion and Thomas
youths disappear under the
water. Oregon state police re
ported that the youngsters
apparently stepped off a 30
foot underwater shelf and
were swept to their deaths in
the undertow. .
After the bodies of Allen
and Zimmerman were recov

the search for the bodies of
the two youngsters. However,
the search was called off at
10:30 Wednesday night be
cause the divers were having
trouble seeing despite the
fact that the area was lighted
by emergency power.
Allen and Zimmerman lost
their lives when their boat
capsized and they were pulled
under the water by undercur
rents. Doyle also was pulled
under but was saved by a
Caldwell boater, Robert Bee
ment. He dove from his boat
and pulled Doyle to safety.
He said he could not locate
the other two men under the
water. " ,
The four Boise men had
life preservers in the boat
with them, but they had not
put them on when they start
ed downstream in the small
craft.
