The announcement came as
no surprise and the unani
mous poll seemed necessary
since Stanford, the school
that had been "on the fence"
over the idea of disbanding,
said they were after all in
favor of the move. WSC an
nounced last week it would
support a motion to dissolve
the PCC.
Glenn T. Seaborg, Chancel
lor of University of California
speaking for all the faculty
this summer, said that the
Dodgers let him go to make
way for younger players in
their system. He is 24.
The Medfordite had a 3-4
record at Des Moines, playing
in about 15 games, in 10 of
which he started. He opened
the season with Victoria of
the Texas league and was 0-3
in a dozen or so games there.
Wooton is now free to sign
with whichever pro club he
chooses when he so desires or
when the opportunity arises.
He said he had some chances
to take pro or semi-pro base
ball jobs for the rest of the
season but returned to Med
ford to be certain of employ
ment for the winter months.
Just before he was released,
Wooton said, he felt he was
"coming around" but was not
being given much opportunity
to pitch. The chucker has
never seemed to blossom out
in his season in the minors. "I
still think I can do it," Wooton
declared.

The motion to dissolve was
made at 9:26 a.m. and was
officially adopted four min

The conferees decided to
take up the problem of divid

winter, 1958 and spring, 1959
sessions. Seaborg said, how
ever, they would probably

The members passed by an
