Miss Hughes is graduate of Medford High school and is employed by the Park Place cafe. Mr. Adams is a graduate of Crater High school and is employed by United Motors in Los Angeles, Calif. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Sharon Ann Groat Sharon Groat Engaged to Wed Charles Wilson Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Tucker, 23 North Columbus avenue, announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Sharon Ann Groat, to Charles E. Wil son of Grants Pass. He Is the son of Mr. and .Mrs. . . Wilson, Talent. Miss Groat is a graduate of Medford High school and is attending Robertson School of Business in Medford. Mr. Wil son attended Southern Oregon college and is employed by radio station KOJO in Grants Pass. No date has been set for the wedding. Returns Home Mrs. Maude Boswell, Cul ver City, Calif., returned to her home Saturday after spending a week in the valley as a guest of Mrs. J. A. Seiler, 1132 West Main street. Ol Z) A, Miss Terrie Hughes Gasquet Park Setting Ror Gray-Hoover Rites Cave Junction An dutdoor woodland setting in Gasquet park was the scene Saturday, July 19, of the wedding of Miss Donna Louise Gray and Thomas H. Hoover, both of San Francisco, Calif. The Rev. Martin Brown of the Bridge yiew Community church of ficiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred F. Gray, given in marriage, by her father, wore a blue faille dress with yellow accessories and carried a white Bible with a white orchid. The maid of honor, Miss Roxie Looper, cousin of the bride, wore a pastel lavender dress with deep rwple cor sage. Mrs. David Looper, grand mother of the bride, was solo ist. The bridegroom, son of Mrs. Doris Baker of San Francisco, was attended by David L. Looper, grandfather of the bride, as best man. White and pastel gladiolus decorated the bride's table where the young couple cut the tiered wedding cake. A picnic dinner was served be fore the newlyweds left on their wedding trip to Oregon Caves. The bride has spent a part of every summer in the valley for the past 15 years and at tended Kerby school. She was also a member of Job's Daugh ters here. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Bettencourt, route 1, box 51, Jacksonville. Mr. Arent is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ros coe T. Arent, box 118, Butte Falls Star route, Eagle Point. The Rev. D. E. Millard of ficiated at the 1:30 o'clock afternoon .wedding attended by 70' relatives and friends. Mrs. Millard played the tradi tional wedding music and Mr. Millard was soloist. The bride wore a white lace ballerina length dress with fingertip length veil which was held by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of gardenias encir cled by orange blossoms. Mr. Bettencourt gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Shirley Bettencourt at tended her sister. She wore a yellow nylon ballerina length frock with white car nation corsage. Robert O. Greb, Eagle Point, served as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held. Mrs. Vic tor Hansen, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake and Miss Shirley Betten court, sister of the bride, pre sided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Bettencourt, mother of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. For her daughter's wedding and the reception Mrs. Betten court wore a light blue chem ise frock with white accesso ries. Mrs. Arent chose a light blue sheath dress with white accessories. Their corsages were of gardenias. The newlywed couple are making their home in Med ford following a wedding trip to the Oregon coast. For her traveling attire the bride wore a light green linen suit. The bride attended Eagle Point High school and will graduate from Jacksonville High school next year. Mr. Arent is a graduate of Eagle Point High school and is em ployed by Armin-Richter and associates in Medford. Out-of-town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. William Schnisdling, Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Plass, Klamath Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Elga Abbott, Butte Falls, Mrs. Bessie Shrader, Myrtle Point, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. T- Shower Honors Portland Woman Eagle Point Mrs. Richard Atkinson, Portland, the for mer Judy Rankin, formerly of Eagle Point, was honored at a bridal shower last month at the Fred Farlow home, Brownsboro road, Eagle Point. Mrs. Atkinson was ac companied to the area by her mother, Mrs. Clarence Ran kin, Portlarid, for the event. Russell (Salon photo) Teachers Make Home In Medford Following Trip Mr. and Mrs. William L. Russell are making their home at 1139 West Main street, Medford, following their return from a wedding trip to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Michigan and Yellow stone National park. Mrs. Russell is the former Claudette Jane Worthen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Travis J. Worthen, Coos Bay. Mr. Russell is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Russell, 1139 West Main street, Medford. The couple were married in a double ring ceremony held recently at the First Bap tist church, Coos Bay. The Rev. Nixon Knight officiated at the two o'clock afternoon ceremony attended by 50 rela tives and friends. . 1 Baskets of calla lilies and white gladiolus decorated the church for the June 15 event. Mrs. William Worthen, sister-in-law of the bride, was solo ist and Miss Penny Signalless played the traditional organ wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a waltz length dress of white nylon lace fashioned with scoop neckline, short sleeves and satin back bow. She carried a white, Bible with an orchid and lily of the valley. Miss Merrill Simington, Portland, was honor attend ant, and Mrs. Max Williams, Torrance, Calif., sister of the bride, was bridesmatron. They wore princess style frocks and carried colonial bouquets of white carnations. Miss Si mington was in aquamarine while Mrs. Williams was in yellow. Jack Henry, of Ashland, served as best man while Max Williams, Torrance, Calif., and William Worthen, Coos Bay, brother of the bride, seated the guests. Yellow rosebuds and white snapdragons decorated the rooms where the reception was held. Immediately following the reception the couple left on their wedding trip. For her traveling attire the bride chose a yellow sheath frock with white accessories and the orchid from her bridal bou quet. The bride is a graduate of Southern Oregon college and will teach the second grade at Lone Pine school this fall. Mr. Russell is a graduate of South ern Oregon college and is senior English teacher at Cra ter High school. Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Loy Judkins and her daughter, Judy, and Mrs. Lee Mcl.lains and son, Gary, all of Nowato, Okla. Mrs. Judkins and Mrs. McMains are aunts of the bridegroom. King-Bigelow Rites Held in Oklahoma Central Point Announce ment is made of the wedding of Miss Janice R. King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel P. King, 3412 New Ray road, Central Point, and Ronald E. Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd E. Bige low, Route 2, Jacksonville, June 23 in the Fort Sill chapel at Fort Sill, Okla. Army Chaplain Lt. Thomas Brooks officiated at the 9:30 o'clock morning ceremony. Following the wedding a reception was held for the couple by the 529th C Battery, Fort Sill, at the chapel. The bride is a graduate of Crater High school. Mr. Bige low attended Cottage Grove, Ore., schools and is stationed with the United States Army at Fort Sill. Couple Make Home Here Following Ashland Rites Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wayne Hart are making their homej at Royal Oaks Trailer park, Medford, following their re turn from a wedding trip to the Oregon coast. The couple were married recently at First Methodist church, Ash land, in a ceremony held at seven o'clock in the evening. Carlton B. Abbott, father of the bride, officiated at the double ring ceremony attend ed by 100 relatives and friends. Mrs. Hart is the former Sharon Louise Abbott, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Ab bott,' 1106 Paradise lane, Ash land. Mr. Hart is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hart, 3405 Lone Pine road. Mrs. Frank Davis played the traditional . organ wed ding music and accompanied David Curtis, soloist. Baskets of pink and white gladiolus decorated the church for the June 14 ceremony. The bride wore a floor length gown of Italian lace and tulle. Her veil of illusion was held by a seed pearl and lace cap and she carried a white orchid encircled by stephanotis and lily of the val ley. Clarence Abbott, San Francisco, gave his niece in marriage.. Miss Lynda Abbott served as honor attendant for her sister while bridesmaids were Miss Beryl Bosshard, and Miss Paul Phillips, Eugene. They wore pastel crystalline frocks in green, pink and blue and carried matching cas cade bouquets of Ester Reed daisies. Little Pamela Perrien served as flower girl for her aunt. She wore a pink frock styled as the other attendants and carried a basket filled with rose petals. Garry Hart, Medford, served as best man for his brother while Larry Green and Warren Stearns, Medford, seated the guests. Garry Le Blanc, nephew ,of the bride, wheat's new for college . MELWD'S served as ring bearer. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Wesley house in Ashland. The bride attended Ashland schools and Southern Oregon college. Mr. Hart attended Medford schools and South ern Oregon college and is an engineer aid with the United States - Forest Service.
