BACKWARD One of Four Tracts Of Timber Sold at BLM Sale Last Week Only one of the four tracts of timber offered for sale by the Medford district of the bureau of land management was sold at oral auction July U 17. Schmidt and Crews logging qC company of Glendale was the successful bidder for an esti mated 4,385,000 board -get of timber located in the Upper Grave creek area in north western Jackson county. The high bid was S106,602,45, with a bid for Douglas Fir of $25.25. The three tracts that re ceived no bids were all lo cated in the West Fork Cow creek area in southwest Doug las county. On July 31, an estimated 114,000 board feet located on a road re-location project near the Howard Prairie dam site will be offered for sale. On Aug. 7. an estimated 682,000 board feet of timber in southwest Klamath county which was killed in the Bogus burn last summer will be re offered for sale. The regular sale on Aug. 14 will consist of three tracts containing an estimated 6,428,- 000 board feet valued at $143, 980,30. Music Program to Start at Camp White Camp White The popu lar stop-the-music program "Halt" will start again July 22 in the Camp White theater. The program is sponsored by the American Legion aux iliary, department of Oregon, and features the organ music by Robert (Bob) Kearney and piano duets by Mrs. Lelia Lamb and Kearney. Prizes for naming tunes are furnished by Mrs. Polly Offut and Mrs. Lelia Lamb representing the American Legion auxiliary. . In addition to sponsoring "Halt" the ALA, department of Oregon, and the auxiliaries from Medford, Grants Pass, Ashland and Cave Junction arrange programs and special entertainments on the wards. The American Legion aux iliary sponsors the annual wheelchair parade and were hostesses at the 1958 Camp White Hobby fair. They ship ped 243 thousand poppies for the 1958 campaign.
