Krause returned July 15 from a trip to Spo kane, Yakama, Everett and Seattle, Wash., where he vis ited relatives. Mrs. Albert F. Krause is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boyer, at Vallejo, Calif., and will return to her home this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Edwards and family, Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Griffin and, family have returned from Kamloops, Canada, and Lake Chelan, Washington. A Mrs. Griffin's parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. HEC chairman Nora Brad shaw reminded members to save coffee bands. We have but a few months to collect the number of bands required for the coffee maker. Voting was found favorable on the applications of H. A. and Camille Gilkey to become members of the Grange. They have bought the property of Loyd and Faye George. The Georee will be missed in our community. They have lived in our community for the past 14 years. The birthdays of Betty Bradshaw and Leland Charley were honored by the birthday song, a decorated cake and gifts. After the closure of Grange, Betty Bradshaw showed local pictures which Merton Brad shaw had taken. Next Grange meeting will be on Aug. 8 at 8:30 p.m. SENTENCED TO DEATH Singapore (UPI) The high court here Thursday handed down its first death sentence for a woman since the end of World War II. The court imposed the punishment on Salha Binte Nasup, 22, aft er finding her guilty of stab bing her,sister-in-law to death. (in July only) CITY Asylum Granted To t Esthonian Seaman London (UPI) Britain an nounced today it has granted political asylum to an Estho nian seaman who slipped away from a Russian fishing fleet June 26 and landed on the Shetland Islands in a small boat. The escape of Erich Teayn, 32, touched off an internation al incident. A party of about 30 Soviet seamen invaded the islands in pursuit of Teayn, but failed to find him because the islanders Jiid him. The British foreign office protested the incident to Russia. Pal Male ter. The statement Thursday came after a report was issued by the specila United Nations committee on Hungary which accused the Budapest govern ment of violating the U.N. Charter and Declaration of Human Rights by the trials and executions of those who took part in the 1956 uprising.
