Specifications and official Addenda.
The Schedule of Minimum wages.,
as established by the Secretary of
Labor for this Project, and de
tailed in the Special Provisions,
shall govern on this Contract.
All proposals must be presented
on the blank form, furnished with
the Contract Documents, accompa
nied by a certified check, cashier's
check or bid bond payable to City
of Medford in an amount equal
to. or exceeding, five per cent
(5i) of the total bid. All unit bid
items shown on the Proposal Form
hall be extended with the quanti
ties as estimated by the Consulting
Engineer for each item. The total
bid shall be the total of all bid
extensions.
Attention of bidders is directed
to Section 98-103 ORS providing
for pre-qualification.
A one hundred per cent (100)
corporate surety performance and
payment bond will be required to
guarantee the faithful performance
of the Contract and payment of
wages and obligations. The success
ful bidder must show evidence of
adequate liability and property
damage insurance.
The right is reserved to postpone
making the award for a reasonable
length of time, or to reject any
or all bids, and to accept the pro
posal deemed in the best interest
of the City of Medford. regardless
of bid prices.

Student Drowns in
Lake on Campus

A Rose Poly Institute sum
mer student drowned Wednes
day while swimming with a
companion in a lake on, the
campus east of here.
The body of Phillip Keith,
18, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Keith, Plainville, was
recovered about an hour after
the accident.
Bill Seven, Mattoon, a fel
low student swimming with
Keith, said he attempted to
rescue the youth, but Keith
broke away from his grasp as
they approached shore.
