CIuif Goodwin of Big ButtS creel, Trail, was in volved in tn accident when the car he was driving hit a .oft shoulder on Big Boutte Creek road, ran into a tree, atd turned over on the side. With him were his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. P. Glover, who were visiting from Portland. Mrs. Glover suffered a fractured pelvis andOseveral broken ribs and is in Rogue Valley hospital. Thomas Smith of Trail is convalescing at home after undergoing two heart attacks within in the past two weeks. A special evening event at the Trail Community church will be held July 9 when the Jubilaires, a musical team from Simpson Bible college in San Francisco, will be pres ent. Mrs. Dale Sawyer of Shady Cove has returned from a vacation in California. She went to Long Beach where she visited Dale's brother-in- law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kellar Hutton, and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sawyer, and to South Pasadena where she visted her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Merrill In Sacramento she visited her niece and family, Mr. ' and Mrs. Harold Baldwin. Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Hamil ton and sons Terry and David, of Phoenix, Ore., were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Trusty of Elk creek, Trail. The dinner served as a farewell party because the Hamiltons are moving to Phoenix, Ariz. ' Dr. and Mrs. Howard Fer guson are oq a trip to San Francisco where they will spend a few ' days attending the National AMA convention. Tex Burnett of Shady Cove is in Osteopathic hospital where he is undergoing treat ment for leg injury suffered when a rock rolled down the mil and struck him while working for Al Cooper logging. Arriving to attend the fu neral of their mother, Mrs. Edith Davis, in Medford Thursday were three sons and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Davis of Monrovia, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Dale Davis of Pasadena, Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis of the Swanson home and have moved. The Clarence Zawad zke family, who have been renting one of Tom King's houses, are now renting the Lowery house. Dr. William Holt of Med ford was guest speaker at the Thursday meeting of Shady Cove Rotary club June 19. Dr. Holt was born in Shang hai, China, of American Mis sionary parents in 1873. His parents returned to the U.S., where he completed his edu cation, later teaching school for four years. His practice started in Eagle Point in 1906 and continued in Medford in 192i. He was the first secre tary of the Jackson County Medical Society, of which he is still an active member. He related many experiences of the Medical Society. In relating his experiences, Dr. Holt recalled visits to rail road camps of the Butte Falls railroad, dining room table aperations, many amusing in cidents relating to country doctors, the collecting of bills. Mrs. Ed Learning of Shady Cove went to Albany over the weekend where she bowled with a Medford team. Building on the new Trail Community church has now progressed to the point where the blocks are being laid for the walls. The Daily Vacation Bible school held by the Trail Com munity church, ended Friday, June 20, with a program for parents and friends. Average attendance was 125. Mrs. Clarence W a g 1 e r was in charge of the program. A coming event will be the Bible Camps at Lake of the Woods. Times of camp are junior girls, Aug. 11-16; sen ior camp Aug. 18-23, and junior boys, Aug. 25-30. Catechism classes that have been conducted for two weeks by the Holy Name Sisters at the Church hall in Shady Cove also ended June 20. The Rev. Ilg celebrated a First j Communion Mass Sunday, June 22. Following Mass, a break fast was served other parish members. Mrs. Dick Bartuss of Shady Cove and Mrs. Ray Maurer of Prospect were in charge of the breakfast, as sisted by other members of the club. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Chil dreth of Medford were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Trusty of Elk creek, Trail. Col. and Mrs. Jack Fuller of LaMesa, Calif, are visiting Mrs. Fuller's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kindschi of Trail. . Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fran cis of Trail are parents of a baby boy born June 3, weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces. The baby has been named Lloyd Dean Francis, and is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Oliver of Trail. Mrs. Harry Nicholson of Central Point is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hanson, of Trail. Mrs. William Shepherd of Shady Cove attended the Fed eration of Garden clubs state convention as a representa tive from the Shady Cove Garden club in Eugene June 16. Mrs. Charles Cushman of Trail attended as a delegate for the Eagle Point Garden club. Mrs. Ed Strather of Shady Cove accompanied delegates to the recent PEO convention in Medford to Longview, Wash., where she is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ali Sandoz. San doz is confined to the hospi tal where he underwent surg ery. Mr. - and Mrs. .Miles Wil liams, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Con way, of Shady Cove and Mr. and Mrs. Walt Young of Eagle Point went on a fishing trip to Lemola near Diamond lake recently. St. Martin's Guild will hold the second in a series of card parties Wednesday, July 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the VFW hall in Shady Cove. Bridge, pinochle and canasta will be played. Door prize and prizes for high and low score will be given. Refreshments will be served. Ersal Myers of Elk creek, Trail, suffered bruises, cuts and a concussion when a horse fell on him on his ranch last Saturday. He is conva lescing at home. " Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schulz of Klamath Falls were visi tors recently at the home of their cousin, Mrs. Nellie Chamberlain, of Shady Cove. Julie Wallace of Medford is spending a few days with her girl friend, Betty Myers, and visiting the Ersal Myers family. Mrs. Ernie Segessenman of Shady Cove has returned from Canada, where she was called by the death of her brother, Lloyd Roach. Another broth er, Ernie Roach, of Saskatch ewan, accompanied her home for a visit. Sgt. Bill Brewster of the Marines, arrived home June 24 for a 30-day leave.
