Death Reported Friends here have received word of the death of Mrs. Blaine Klum, former resident, who died recently in Palo Alto, Calif. Rich ard Herman Degroot, 5170 South Pacific highway, Med ford, and Donald Earl Har rison, 1003 South Peach st., Medford, were drivers of ve hicles involved in an accident at Third and Front sts. Fri day about 11:15 a.m. Har rison was cited by police for failure to yield right of way. The second accident, about 12:01 a.m. Saturday at Court and - Edwards sts., invovled cars driven by Joe Ann La casse, 361 North Fourth st., Central Point, and James Phil lips, 317 Ross Lane, Medford. Phillips was cited for disobey ing a traffic signal. Obituary MRS. JEJNNIE MAY BOLT Mrs. Jennie May Babb, 82, a resident of Grants Pass for 14 years," died at the family residence, 1113 Highway 199, Thursday. Mrs. Babb was born near La Grande May 1, 1876. She received her education in Wei ser, Ida., and was a member of the Advent Christian church of Medford. In 11 days, on July 7, she and Mr. Babb would have cel ebrated their 63rd weding an niversary. They were mar ried at Midvale, Ida., on July 7, 1895. She is survived by her husband, C. W. Babb, who is a realtor in Grants Pass, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs. S. L. Babb of Med ford. Funeral services will be held at Perl Funeral , home Monday at 2 p.m. Mrs. M. O Shide, pastor of the Advent Christian church will offici ate. Burial will be in the fam ily plot in the Jacksonville cemetery. . Ex-Convicf Caught After Three Thefls Portland (UPI) A 29-year-old ex-convict was caught and charged with the robbery of three Fred Meyer Stadium store employees late Friday afternoon, by Portland police. Hiller A. Hayes was being held in the Portland city jail on two counts, each bearing S5.000 bail. Hayes was charged with assault and robbery and being armed with a dangerous weapon, according to city police. t Hayes was picked up ap proximately two hours after the trio of Fred Meyer em ployees was robbed. Hayes was nabbed by a CANDLE HOTEL MEDFORD CENTRAL POINT Junior Police Club Meets By DORIS HUGHES Central Point The Cen tral Point Junior Police club under the direction of Police Chief W. P. Bowen met Sat urday afternoon at the city fire station for the first meet ing of the summer vacation All boys and girls between 9 and 14 may join the club, which meets at 2 p.m. each Saturday at the fire station. Mr. and Mrs. Don Burelson and daughter Sheri, returned Wednesday from a 10-day va cation in Los Angeles. The Burelsons returned by the coast route stopping in Cres; cent City to visit at the home of Harold Burelson. A guest recently at the Ar thur Ayers home was Mrs. Ayers' brother, John Stall, of Chandler, Ariz. While here, Stall went with Mr. and Mrs Ayers to Eugrene where they attended the high school grad uation of Miss Betty Tharp. Miss Tharp, who is the Ayers granddaughter, is a former resident of Central Point. A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Tharp of Eugene Attending were Mr. and Mrs Del Ayers of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Zimmerman and Donna and Ted of Seat tle, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Grimes and David and Danny of Klamath Falls, Stall Mr. and Mrs. Ayers and the John Tharp family. Two birthday parties were given June 11 honoring David Langston on his third birth day. The parties were given at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Langston. Guests at the afternoon party were Janet and Gary Snook, Brian and Susan McCoy, Ron nie and Donnie Matejka, Mike Langston and the hon ored guest, David Langston. Guests at the evening party were David's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rus Peebles of Grants Pass, and his great aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peebles, of Medford. Cheryl Hendrickson re turned to her home in Gold Hill Thursday after 'spending a week at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hendrickson. An anniversary dinner was held Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Hendrick son. Guests were Miss Judy Van Horn, Mr. and Mrs: Jack Hendrickson and Cheryl and Stevie. Sunday there were 10 boats sighted on the lake, but no one reported any size able catch. ; The lake has a good popula tion of Eastern brook trout, but they are only about five inches long, according to re ports. This week the roads through Grayback camp are being im proved with crushed gravel. Beginning July 1 a "no smoking while traveling" rul ing will take effect. Overnight campers are also to be re minded to carry with them an axe, shovel and water bucket. A timber sale of 2,700 mil lion board feet along Four Mile creek was made Monday by the forest service to S H & W timber of Grants Pass. Illinois Valley ranger sta tion has manned three of their four lookout stations this week. Al Gravat is sta tioned on Bolan. and Dave Lukert on Piersal, both going up on Monday, and Bob Buhler left for Sanger Tues day. A man has been appoint ed to Canyon Peak, but has not been sent to his position. Mrs. Hollis Bell and sons, Roger and Durand, of Med ford were visitors in the val ley last week as guests of the E. Smiths and Clyde Knights. All members of the Blue Star Mothers club were pres ent at the potluck picnic meet ing 'held at Grayback park last Tuesday. Reports were given on the "Meeting ; of Instruction" by the six members attending the Grants Pass chapter June 9. Plans for the annual Daisy sale to be sometime in August were discussed. The W. A.
