Damage Bulldozer Sher iff's officers today are inves tigating recent malicious de struction of a bulldozer, five chokers and a water pump at a logging operation at Butte Falls. Huber, 141 Oak Grove rd., reported to sheriff's offi cers today that someone broke flags off mail boxes owned by him and his neigh bor some time Friday. Centra Point Man Appears in Court A 21-year-old Central Point man was remanded to psychi atric treatment this morning by Municipal Court Judge Noreen Kelly after he en tered a plea of guilty to a charge" of mashing. He was released on $100 bail with sentencing post poned for 60 days by the court. HITCHHIKER STOPS OFF New Orleans (UPD Udo Becker, 23, an insurance clerk from Germany visited the New Orelans French quarter Tuesday on his hitchhiking trip around the world. Becker said he is living on bread and fruit. ' New York (UPI) Ralph Edison, 67, manager of prop erties for the Metropolitan Opera House, died Monday of a heart attack. Mrs. Davis was born in Princeton, Minn., July 22, 1885, and had been a resi dent of Oregon for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Eagle Point Grange. Survivors include her hus band, Loyd L. Davis, Eagle Point: three sons, Roy N. Davis, Sparks, -Nev., Hartley L. Davis, Monrovia, Calif., and Dale W. Mr. Holliday was born Sept. 1, 1905, in Olympia, Wash., and was a veteran of World War II, serving from Oct. 10, 1940, to Nov. 29, 1944, as a sergeant. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bernice Peterson, Mon- tesano, Wash. JAMES L. DEAN Funeral services for James L. Dean, 49, formerly of Med f or, who died Saturday in San Francisco, will be held at Conger-Morris Funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Robert C. Cull, of the Assem bly of God church, will offi ciate. Committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Dean was born April 9, 1909, in New York City. He was a former resident of Medford, moving to San Fran cisco 11 years ago. He was married June 14, 1947, in San Francisco, to Dorothy Balderston, who survives. Other survivors include three children, Curtis, Linda and Dorothy. MARQUITA KENDLE . Marquita K e n d 1 e, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kendle, 2495 West Main st., died at a local hospital Tuesday.- She is survived by her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Kendle, and two brothers, Jeffrey and Jim my Kendle, all of Medford; and her grandfather, Claude Kendle, Scio, Ore. Perl Funeral home is in charge of arrange ments. , I Auto Firebug Again Strikes in Portland Portland (UPI) Police reported today that the auto firebug who apparently likes to see late model cars go up in smojje struck again late Tuesday. Officers said a. car belong ing to L. E. Cooper was set afire with a flammable liquid poured ; on' the seat. Cooper was able to douse the flames before i they did' extensive damage. The incendiarist has been operating in the south east section of the city for the past week. t . Sides, 926 Murray st., Med ford, is expected home on leave some time in July, ac cording to his parents. Sides wrote his parents re cently that his commanding officer has recommended him for an appointment to West Point. He is now stationed at Godwin Air Force base, Ft. Knox, Ky. Sides is scheduled for promotion to corporal and is now second in command of the control tower at the air field. The Army man is a gradu ate from Medford High school and spent a year at Southern Oregon college, Ashland. TO RETURN TO U.S. Long Beach, Calif. Law rence G. Cook, fireman, USN, son of Fr. and Mrs. B. C. Cook of 335 Alder, Central Point, is scheduled to return to Long Beach, Calif., June 27, aboard the destroyer USS Walke after a six-month tour of duty in the Western Pa cific. Between training ex ercises, the 'Walke's crew vis ited the ports of Auckland, New Zealanr"; Brisbane, Aus tralia; Yokosuka and Kobe, Japan, and Hong Kong. IN EUROPE Capt. Richard B. Doctor-Owned Pharmacies Rapped Salem (UPI) A resolu tion calling for an end to doctor-owned pharmacies was passed by the Oregon State Pharmaceutical Association at the final session of its three day annual meeting here Tuesday. The group urged that the American Medical Association change the section of its code of ethics dealing with phar macies operated by doctors. The 200 delegates also passed a resolution urging that present medical care pro visions for families of mili tary personnel be revised to allow dependents to receive drug products also, through proper channels. OHIO STATE MARRIAGES Columbus, Ohio - (UPI) Some 23 per cent of Ohio State university's 20,100 stu dents are married.
