Schcols Cuidad Trujillo, Dominican Republic (UPI) Thirty Do minican officers and cadets attending military schools in the United States were or dered Tuesday to leave imme diately and return home. The order, issued by 'the secretary of state for the armed forces, was considered a retaliation for the refusal of a U.S. Army staff school to grant a graduation diploma to Gen." Rafael L. Senate Hopes For House Action On Labor Bill Washington (UPI) Back ers of the Senate's "moder ate" labor reform bill hoped today its overwhelming 88-1 victory in the Senate would spur a reluctant House to act o'n the measure this year. The bill, aimed at ending labor-management abuses turned up by the ' Senate Rackets Committee, was sent to the House Tuesday night after five days of debate with the blessing of Democratic leaders, the administration and Senate GOP leader Wil liam F. Knowland who had sought a stiffer measure. No Comment House Democratic leaders had no immediate comment. They were expected to confer soon with Rep. Graham Bar den (D-N.C), chairman of the House Labor Committee who has been reluctant to act on any labor legislation in an election year. Barden told United Press International he had not read the Senate bill and "could guess the weather with as much accuracy" as the ' out look for the measure in his committee. Rep. Ralph W. Gwinn (R N.Y.) senior GOP member of the committee and advocate of a much tougher union-control bill predicted the commit tee will not act on broad labor legislation. "Not that I wouldn't like to see a good, honest labor bill but we just don't have the votes," he said. -T- 1 i ( I We have Extended this 1st ANNIVERSARY SALE through this wsek to en3b!s those of you vho called fromother cities to come in also, to complete transactions that were pending. (UPI) Lockheed's Jetstar, a swept wing jet transport, landed here Tuesday after touching "four corners" of the nation in less than 1,8 hours. Actually, the plane was in the air for 14 hours and 50 minutes on its 6,700 -mile home run from border to bor der and coast to coast at speeds averaging 456 miles per hour and reaching 686 m.p.h. af times. Engineering Pilot Ray Goudey flew the plane at alti tudes of 45,000 feet to avoid poor weather and improve the Jetstar's range, extended from a normal 1,730 miles to more than 3,000 miles wit 640 gallon slipper ' tanks " fitted over the wings. Potential Demonstrated Purpose of the flight was to demonstrate the Jetstar's potential for high sped trans portation of cargo or person nel to distant points. The jet roared aloft with Goudey at the controls Mon day night at this base and sped to McChord Air Force Base in Washington in one hour and 52 minutes. Swinging east, the plane streaked to Westover Air Force Base at Chicopee Falls, Mass., in five hours, then flashed south to McCoy Air. Force Base at Orlando, Fla. Racing westward again, Goudey brought the plane in at Edwards at 4:32 p.m. (p.s.t), completing the run. Average Pilot Said College Man Lansing, Mich.
