Eugene One of the Univer

will graduate this week has
spent more on gasoline than
tuition payments, according to
Don Robinson of the Univer
sity of Oregon news bureau.
She is Mrs. Evelyn Mann,
wife of a Riddle, Ore., con
tractor, who for the past three
years has driven daily to
Southern Oregon college, Ash
land, or the University of
Oregon in Eugene to attend
classes.

At Coos Bay Ends
Coos Bay (UPI) A strike
against five Coos Bay tugboat
firms ended Thursday after
agreement was reached on a
new contract between the
firms and Local 17 of the In
ternational Organization of
Masters, Mates and Pilots.
The new contract granted
a reduction in the number of
hours to be worked for a
guaranteed month's pay to 86
from 140. Union members, on
call 24 hours a day, will be
required to work 172 hours a
month for the same pay if
called upon. Previously it
was 180 hours.
The agreement also called
for two weeks' vacation after
three years instead of five
years.

early for the long auto trip.
