Justice Ward G. Rush is- sued the warrant Wednesday and set bail at S500. Beck was cited last month for driving on the wrong lide of U. S. 99 freeway north of Tulare. Mr. Tockstein was well known in this area having been on the farm on Big Butte q creek for the past five years and was active in J&e wjri of the Upper Rogue Grange. Besides his widow, he is sur vived his father, Otto Tocll steinrof St.CLoui Mo. Newcomers to Trail are Mr. and Mrs. Pee Karner who have purchased California-on-the-Rogue Motel from the Tom McCreadys. The Karners came from Las Vegas, Nev., where they were flptive in the motel business. They also ownedc and o$red(i motel in Phoe nix, Ariz. They are expecting to have Mrs. Kargers rela tives from Illinois arrive in a short time to help with the work. They have the store open now as well as the9notels and are banning to do some remodelins., Mr. and Mrs. Miles Wil liams of Shady Cove enter tained a group of friends with a breakfast at their home re cently. Guests were Dr. and Mrs. Verne Wilson of Shady Cove and Mrs. Wilson's aunt, Miss Ann Forbes, of San Diego. Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Conway, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bartuss and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Strother, all of Shady Cove. Q , . Mr. and Mrs. John Axtell of Medford are parents of a boy born May 26. The baby, who has been named Dennis Farrell, is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ranald Axtell of Trail. ' Mr. and Mrs. Jim Collier and daughters of Eagle Point were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Estin. On Friday, June 6, starting at 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima church hall a fun night will be held with an auction being conducted by Everett Elrod and the awarding of the cedar chest being made. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited. Mr. and Mrs. B. Rojas and family, are now living in a house on the Axtell ranch. . Daily's U-Drive Medford Airport 4-H Crop Tour In Area Set A crop and livestock tour will be held for all Jackson county 4-H members on June 12 and June 13, according to Glenn Klein, county 4-H agent. Cost per club member will be $2.50. This will include all meals and will help pay for transportation, Klein ex plained. All those planning to go should notify the county extension office by noon, June 11 so food may be ordered. The schedule includes: Leave the courthouse in Med ford at 10:30 a.m., visit the E. J. Lathrop farm on Greg ory rd. at 10:45 a.m. to view the sheep, lunch at the fair grounds park at noon, tour the Southern Oregon agron omy station at Talent at 1 p.m., tour the Rogue River Valley creamery at Central Point at 2:30 p.m., then to TouVelle park for swimming and games. Schedule for June 13 in cludes: Breakfast at 7 a.m., visit the John Bohnert-Don Bradshaw Seven Oaks farm, Central Point, to see beef ani mals; inspect the swine at the A. T. Angola, La. (UPI) Twenty-seven maximum security prisoners staged a brief riot at the state prison Wednes day. The convicts demon strated because guards confis cated their "goof-ball", ben-ezedrine-soaked wadding for nasal inhalers. Guards crushed the riot with tear gas. . (UPI) Firing of an interme diate range Thor from a launcher of. the "type to be used by field units brought the Air Force closer, today to having the missile ready at overseas bases by the end of the year.
