Star Can't Talk About Trujillo Billy Graham Says Country riui Lnrisiidn i San Francisco (IP) Evan gelist Billy Graham has de cided that the United States is not really a Christian coun try. "Although influenced by Christianity, the United States is not a Christian nation," he told ah audience of 12,500 at the Cow Palance Wednesday night. He said it takes more than being born in a Christian home home to make a person a Christian. "We must live and practice Christianity," he said. A person must meet three essential conditions to become a practicing Christian, Gra ham said. They are: A person must make his "own choice for Christ." A person must then change his "motives and his values." A person has to "accept the challenge that comes with Christianity. "If a person satisfies all these requirements, then he will have a dogmatic knowl- edge that he knows he's a Christian." Graham said we are all sin ners by choice. "You notice that no one has to have a big sin crusade ati the Cow Palace," he said. Wednesday night's audience raised the total attendance since the crusade began 3V4 weeks ago to 352,200. The cru- sade continues for 2V2 more I weeks. By VERNON SCOTT UP Hollywood Reporter Hollywood 1PI Blonde Novak was under orders today not to talk to anyone tbout her relationship with Lt. Gen. Columbia "gagged" Kim af ter her surprise trip to the sta tion "Tuesday night to see dashing, mustachioed Trujillo, 29, off on his return trip to Ft. Leavenworth, Kans. The actress returned to her Bel-air mansion after, Trujillo lef for an intimate supper with long-time boyfriend Mac Krim. Eyebrows Raise Their candlelight and wine rendezvous raised eyebrows among friends as to the depths f her affection for the young general who gave her an ex jBasive automobile. But Kim won't talk about it Because of the Columbia law: Thus, the violet-eyed beauty "Don't speak to anyone." has holed up in her mountain top home. She leaves the roomy house only on instructions from the studio, and accompanied by a servant. Her gift Mercedes- ' Eenz is hidden under canvas in her garage, leaving Kim with her own white sports car to go to the studio and back for her conferences with her brain trust. Plenty of Answers Hailed down by United Press as she was leaving home today, Kim was asked about her plans romantic and otherwise. "I can't say," she smiled prettily. "The studio doesn't want me fo talk." Will she visit Trujillo at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., where the general is attending the army command and general staff school. "The studio doesn't want me to talk about it." Will she marry the general when his divorce becomes fi nal next month? 'Tm not supposed to say anything," she replied. Her chief mentor at Colum bia is publicity director Al Horwits, who says, "This is an embarrassing situation. Anything she might say would be mistaken. It's better that she doesn't talk." Doctors Warn Of X-Ray Use San Francisco (IP) Two medical specialists suspect that X-ray treatment of infants and children, especially of the head and neck, may lead to cancer of the thyroid. This warning came Wednes day from Dr. Shirley H. Baron, of Mt. Zion hospital in San Francisco, and by Dr. Robert R. Hewell, emeritus head of Stanford Medical School's Department of Radio logy. They spoke before 150 ear, nose and throat specialists at tending' a meeting of the American Laryngologiqal Society. Baron said that in the past two years, he had seen six cases of thyroid cancer, an almost always fatal disease, in patients ranging in age from 5 to 19 years. In every case, he said, a study of the patient's medical record shows he had under gone X-ray therapy in earlier years. One had been treated for a regrowth of tonsil and adenoid tissues and others be cause their thymus gland had seemed larger than normal. Newell strongly urged against the indiscriminate use of X-ray in the head and neck region of youngsters, or anywhere else.
