WOMACK To Conduct Couxso Lectures Scheduled On Public Relations S. H. Womack, training con snultant in public relations of Austin, Tex., will conduct a series of lectures on public re lations in business in Med ford starting May 21, accord ing to Vern Bacon, of the Medford Credit bureau. The classes will be held May 21 to 23 in the Hedrick Junior High school starting at 7 p.m. each day. The course is sponsored by the National Re tail Credit association. What public relations mean, different media used in pub lic relations, how to get along with people, memory, use of the telephone, speech and ap plied psychology will be dis cussed in the classes. Addi tional information is availa ble by contacting Bacon at SPring 2-8006. Tentative Summer Program Scheduled A tentative 1958 . summer school program has been an nounced by the Medford pub lic scnoois; The program includes an academic summer school, rec reation program and an in strumental music program. Subjects scheduled under the elementary grades for the June 16 to July 18 program will include remedial for pos sible promotion of retained students and remedial for strengthening weak students. Subjects scheduled under the secondary grades for the June 16 to July 18 program will be required subjects in English, social studies and mathematics; home nursing, grades 11 and 12; first aid, grade 11 and 12; personal typing, grades 9 to 12; driver training; and remedial for grade 12. Arts and crafts, summer baseball and tennis will be offered under the recreation program. Band, orchestra and baton twirling are available under the music program. Oakridge Policeman Injured By Train Eugene (TO "William L. Kiddle, 48, Oakridge police officer, was in fair condition at Sacred Heart hospital here Friday after being struck by a train in Oakridge about 2 ajn. Mrs. Tom De Rossett sum moned Oakridge police after she heart four shots and cries for help outside her home early this morning. Officers found Riddle lying uncon conscious in the street and with one foot badly mangled. A trail of blood led from Riddle to the Southern Paci fic railroad tracks about a block-and-a-half away. At the tracks the man's shoe and part of his foot were found. He apparently had dragged himself toward the police sta tion and managed to fire the four shots before he passed out. Boy Scouts Explorer Ship 3 Several members of Sea Explorer ship 3, the Impec cable, will attend the region 11 regatta at the San Point Naval Air station, Seattle, May 22 to 25. Events at the meeting will be several competitive events, OLLl uuu fcjr Hit wvyxi.x mand of the J3thvNaval dis trict and the annual Sea Ex plorer ball. Members of the Medford ship will not take part in the sailing competi tion. Attending from the Med ford group will be Boatswain Doug Kliever, Lee Cook, Jack Joyce, Mike Morris and Perry Whitlock.
