Extension Units Plan Meetings Two home extension units have scheduled meetings this week. The Medford unit will meet Wednesday, May 14, at the county courthouse auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Skin care will be' demonstrated at the meet ing, which will be the last for the season. Members are asked to take their own cosmetics, towel, and to wear a cotton dress. Those wishing child care are to contact Mrs. E. H. Trefren, 211 North Peach street, SP ring 2-5425. Coordinated wardrobe will be the last project lesson for a meeting of the Lone Pine group at the Roxy Ann grange hall Thursday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m. Officers will be installed by Miss Mary Pat Lucy, county extension a g e n t. Following the business meeting a pot luck luncheon will be served with Mrs. B. S. Griffin, Mrs. P. C. Dalton, Mrs. J. B. Chap man, Mrs. E. L. Barnes, and Mrs. C. M. Keene, hostesses. All persons "that attended the dress, work shop are asked to wear the dresses they made to the meeting. Miss Lucy will give the lesson for the afternoon. " Persons attending are asked to take their own table serv ice and members who have not been contacted are asked to call Mrs. C. V. Childers, SPring 3-3103, regarding the meal. Child care will be avail able, at the home of Mrs. W. D. Garner, 2995 Buckshot road, for a nominal fee. Each child should take a sack lunch. Also to be installed will be Mrs. . George Simmons, vice president; Mrs. Wilbur Fish, treasurer, and Mrs. Frank Grover secretary. Past presidents of the gcoup will be honored at the meet ing. .': The Lone Pine chorus, under, the direction of Rich ard Michaelis, and the Moth ersingers will entertain the group. At the executive board meeting of the group new ex ecutive officers were also pre sent. Walter Stroup and Nor man Jahn, delegates to the state convention at Bend re cently, reported to the group. Lone Pine started their spring kindergarten May 1 with 33 enrolled pupils. The kindergarten is for children entering the first grade in the fall and . Miss Judy Hall, Southern Oregon college, is the teacher. The school was organized by Mrs. Under wood who also formed the pre-school clinic. At the Tuesday meeting re freshments will be served by mothers of students in the third grade . with Mrs. Nor man Vance in charge. Nursery care will be provided at the meeting. - " BPWCtoHear Officer Speak; Citations Given Army Reserve Colonel Wil liam H. Prentice, command ing officer of 417 Engineers brigade, will speak on Armed Forces week at the Thurs day, May 15, meeting of Med ford Business and Profession al Women's club. The meet ing will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Girls Community club. At the state convention of the association held May 2 through 4 at Gearhart the Medford club received three citations for work done dur ing the past year. -.They, in cluded a sponsoring citation for the establishment of the Ashland club; one from the national organization for equalling 1956-57 membership and attaining a 4.5 per cent increase during the year; and a citation of merit. The last award is based on points earned during the' year for various activities, meeting at tendance, and member par ticipation. Mrs. Harriet Watson was appointed southern Oregon district chairman for the sec ond year and Mrs. Inez Friel was elected to the nominat ing committee for the south ern Oregon district. Delegates from the local club who attended the state meet were Miss Voda Brow er, president of the Medford Club; Miss Laura York, past state-president; Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Jean', Mast, president elect of the Medford club; Miss Lucille Lenox, Mrs.' El len Lynner, and Mrs. Friel. It was announced that the 1959 state convention of-the club, will be held in Medford next May. They will give reports of the convention at the dessert meeting Thursday. Miss Grace Stuhr, chair man of the finance committee, is in charge of the program and Mrs. Ivah Murray, inter national relations chairman, is in charge of social arrange ments. ; Blue Star Mothers Announce Meeting Blue Star Mothers will meet at the home of Mrs. Fred Middlebusher, 1098 Hilton road, Thursday, May 15.
