Agriculture report by Ar nold Bohnert stated farmer's outlook for first crop alfalfa hay was poor; Fred Kuest re ported beef on strong uptrend. Edwin Gebhard reported or chardists see a brighter look ing future for the pear market. The display table by Delmar Smith, jyith his hive of bees, gave an interesting insight into the production of honey. Mrs. J. W. Weidman, HEC chairman, announced the next club meeting to be a work day at the hall. Mrs. Gaston Floux's pro gram opened with Mrs. O. T. Wilson reading an original Mother's Day poem by Mrs. Scott Hamilton. Corsages, made by Mrs. Charles Jantzer, were pinned on Juvenile Ma tron Mrs. Morris Frink and Mrs. Wilson, the only great grandmother present. Mrs. Effie Kurts presented her music students. Misses Kathy and Collene Barr and Aubrey Evans of Medford, who entertained with several numbers. Don Lacy, Crater High school, introduced a member of his speech class, David Mack, who spoke on "The Voter's Responsibility." Roberts informed the mem bers on different angles of Grange insurance. Mrs. Walter Mang, reception committee in troduced Live Oak visitors, Mr. and Mrs. Foster Luce. Luce spoke on the water re sources and flood control proj ect of the Rogue river basin and expressed deep regret of the loss of the valuable mem ber, Harold Gebhard. Delmar Smith, reporting on the community project, stated eight loads of gravel had been used for improving roadways in the Central Point cemetery, also work was done in cutting out mistletoe. No illnesses were reported by Chaplain Mrs. Anna (Chet) Wendt. A motion to change State Grange Convention was voted favorably, as a request to be made at the state session in June. Under eood of the order a package was presented to go to a handicapped party from the Juvenile Matron as one of this years projects. On the subject of the handi capped, Eric A. Allen inform ed members what had been done in this line towards get ting a toy manufacturing plant established in the county where several hundred handi canned could find employ ment. Allen stated that a party from an Eastern concern had alreadv interviewed interested parties along this line and a worthwhile sum had Deen nledeed for this project. A letter was read from the state master urging all with petitions to get them in to headquarters. , Refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Foote, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Colpits. Mrs. O. T. Wilson, Reporter. Tinner Raout Grange Upper Rogue Grange held its regular meeting Tnursaay, Mav 1. and enjoyed a surprise visitation by other Grangers of the county. A total of 114 members and guests attended including Roscoe Roberts, State Grange Steward; Robert Bitterling, Pomona Grange Master; and the following Masters of subordinate Granges in the county: Al Sims, Roxy Anne; Cliff Moore, Eagle Point; Ed Hous ton, Shady Cove; Merton Bradshaw, Lake Creek; Charles Foote, Gold Hill; .and Albert Strauss, Sams Valley. The legislative committee called attention to the pri mary election May 16 and to various school elections this month. The insurance agent explained the "uninsured driver" provision being of fered by, the Grange Insur ance association. The dining room was dec orated and refreshments served by a committee con sisting of the Schuders and the Vaughns.
