Tuesday called for "early and
decisive" congressional action
to revise existing laws for dis
. posal of tribal assets of the
Klamath Indian reservation
in Oregon.
The committee said quick
approval of a bill by Sen.
Richard L. Neuberger (D-Ore.)
is necessary to avert "econom
ic catastrophe" in. southeast
ern Oregon and prevent "des
truction of the nation's larg
est remaining pine forest."

ger's bill would provide for
"continued sustained - yield
management of the Indian
forest, either under private or
federal ownership, and will
assure the Indians a fair mar
ket value for their timber."

the 2,133 Indians enrolled in
