April 18, from 2 until 4:30

Plans will be discussed for the
annual carnation sales of the
two auxiliaries.

scheduled meetings this week.
Chapter CG will meet at
1 o'clock Wednesday April 16,
at the home of Mrs. S. R.
Mosher, 332 Ardmore avenue.
Chapter BE will meet Tues
day, April 15, at? 8 p.m. at
the home of Mrs. W. E. Herch
er, 1608 Stratford avenue.
Mrs. Allan F. . Perry, presi
dent, and her .- officers will
have charge of the meeting.
Chapter CP will hold a
meeting at the home of Mrs.

Gold Hill Couple;
Named Director
Gold Hill Mr. and Mrs.
Ted Schoenemann, Pacific
highway 99 north, have had as
their house guest the past sev
eral weeks their daughter,
Miss Dorothy Schoenemann,
who left recently for San
Francisco to begin a new as
signment. She has received a
permanent appointment as so
cial director on the S. S. Lur-line.
Prior to her visit in the
Rogue valley, Miss Schoene
mann had completed a cruise
to Mexico on the same ship as
social director. Previous to the
Mexico cruise, she took her
orientation trip on the S. S.
Monterey to the South Pa
cific. In addition to these cruises,
Miss Schoenemann has trav
eled to various places, among
them being Alaska, Canada,
Mexico and Havana. She was
employed for several years by
Pan American Airlines in
Honolulu, Seattle and San
Francisco.
Miss Schoenemann attended
school in Burbank, Calif, and
the University of Washington.

County Red Cross Chapter
Announces New Chairman
Several newly appointed
chairmen were introduced at
the monthly meeting of the
Jackson County Chapter of
the American Red Cross.

received three certificates of
award from National Red
Cross hearquarters in recog
nition of Jackson county's
fund raising achievement. The
awards were presented to the

leave soon for Washington,
D. C, for reassignment in
the same recreational pro
gram for servicemen.
Dancers to Hold
Graduation Party
The YMCA beginners
square dance class instructed
by Douglas Fosbury will hold
a graduation party Monday,
April 14, from 8 till 11 p.m.
at the Y. All square dancers
are invited to attend. Potluck
refreshments will be served.
It has been announced that
an intermediate square dance
class will follow this class. It
will be held Monday nights
for six weeks. Anyone inter
ested in "brushing up" is in
vited to attend. This will also
be taught by Mr. Fosbury.

Girls "Hold
Candy Sale
With the launching of the
1958 Camp Fire Girls candy
and peanut in Jackson county
last week, local Camp Fire
Girls, Blue Birds and Horizon
club members have joined
thousands of girls in their
sister councils throughout the
United States to do their
share in this annual money
raising event.
Mrs. Ruth Gerety, execu
tive director of the Rogue
Camp Fire Girls council,
urges support of this "worth
while, character - building
youth organization." "You
treat a Camp Fire Girl to
greater companionship, fun
and learning encouragement
that will make them stronger
citizens of tomorrow. You are
also helping to expand the
privileges of membership in
Camp Fire to more and more
girls eagerly awaiting the
opportunity," Mrs. Gerety
said.
Awards are given to each
girl who sells a certain num
ber of boxes, and each group
gets a share in the profits to
supplement its treasury for
individual group activities.

Butte Falls Garden club
will meet Tuesday,. April 15,
at 1:30 p.m. at the home of
Mrs. Keith Scott. A work day
will be held for framing
flower paintings for the museum.
Family Reunion
Held at Abbotts
A family reunion uniting
five generations was held re
cently at the W. C. Abbott
residence, Old Stage road,
Medford. The occasion also
observed the 83rd birthday
of Mr. Abbott's grandmother,
Mrs. Mary E. Moore, Med
ford. Youngest member of the
family was a six months old
girl, great-great-grandchild of
Mrs. Moore.
' Attending the event was
one of Mrs. Moore's two chil
dren, Mrs. James W. Clarke,
North Riverside avenfte, Med
ford; two grandchildren, Mr.
Abbott and Mrs. G. L. Rans
dell, Eugene; and six of her
nine great- grandchildren.
Great - grandchildren were
Mrs. Floyd Wright, Tilla
mook; Miss Glenda Ransdell,
Miss Jerry Ransdell and Ed
die Ransdell, all Eugene; Mrs.
Bobbie Vance, Gold Hill; and
Tommy Abbott, Medford.
The . great-great-grandchild
is a daughter of the Wrights.
Also observed during the
day's activities were Mr.
Ransdell's and Mr. Abbott's
birthdays which occurred
during the week.

Vance.
Mrs. - Moore was born in
Illinois February 15, 1875,
and moved to Jackson county
in 1877 with her parents.
