Baylor Said Good, Gambee Also Rated By HAL WOOD United Press Sports Writer San Jose, Calif. (IP) Coach Bob Feerick of Santa Clara predicted today that Elgin Baylor of Seattle University would become a "star of stars" when he joins the pro fessional ranks. Feerick, one-time profes sional ace and coach himself, said he would have to rate the Seatle artist one of the best in the country, includ ing the professional ranks. "You consider that Kenny Sears went up from my own club at Santa Clara and Wil lie Naulls went up from UCLA and each is averaging around 18 points per game," said Feerick. Even Better "Then you have to consider that neither Sears nor Naulls could hold a candle to Bay lor at the same stage of devel opment. Baylor has to go 'big' in the pro game." Although he hasn't seen him perform this year, Feer ick said the other "best pro prospect" in the West is Dave Gambee of Oregon State. "When I saw him two years ago he was one of the best," said Bob, "and I assume he is even better by now." Feerick marvels at the re sults Seattle Universitey gets with its "short" men. "Baylor can't be more than four or five inches above the six-foot mark," said Bob, "and the rest of their guys aren't much taller this year." "And remember back a few seasons when they had the O'Brien twins? No tall men then, either."
