PEPPERMINT CANDY CAKE 2 drops red food coloring 3 egg whites H teaspoon cream of tartar cup sugar ii cup sifted finely crushed peppermint stick candy 2 cups sifted cake flour 2M teaspoons baking powder M teaspoon salt H cup Kraft Oil 4 cup milk yi cup water teaspoon vanilla Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add the oil, milk, water, vanilla and red food coloring and beat until it forms a very smooth batter. In a separate bowl beat the egg whites until frothy, add the cream of tartar and continue beating until the egg whites are stiff. Gradually add the sugar and crushed peppermint stick candy and continue beating until very well blended. Fold this egg and sugar mixture thoroughly into the batter. Pour into a greased and floured Bake 'n' Tote pan. Bake in a slow oven, 325, for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pan and frost with: PEPPERMINT FROSTING K cup Parkay Margarine 2 tablespoons milk 2 cups sifted confectioners' H teaspoon vanilla sugar Crushed peppermint stick candy Cream the margarine. Add the sugar alternately with the milk and vanilla. Frost top of cake. Sprinkle with the crushed peppermint stick candy. ....
