Now "Dance till Dawn" with Howard Lanin and his or chestra on Decca, then follow with Jackie Gleason's fine new waxing, "Oooo!" on Capitol; "For You," Bethlehem's con tribution with Dick Stabile; Richard Haymen in "Havana in Hi-Fi" via Mer cury; and "Rhythmagic," by Escobar on Cadence. Finally, "And They Called It Vaudeville" will bring back many mo ments of nostalgia for Mom and Pop. It's on Golden Crest. COVERING THE CLASSICS: Puccini's "Tosca" is one of the most famous of all operas, and RCA's new complete record ing of the score, featuring such magnifi cent voices as Zinka Milanov, dramatic soprano portraying the lead role, Jussi Bjoerling, Leonard Warren, and the Rome Opera House chorus and orchestra, is certain to be "must" listening for all opera lovers. Gilbert and Sullivan fans will welcome Angel's "The Gondoliers," starring the Pro Arte Orchestra and the Glynde bourne Festival Chorus. Also on tap are two other fine recordings, Gliere's "Ilya Mourometz" by the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Leopold Stokowski conducting,-on Capitol, and Mercury's "Rossini Overtures" as performed by the Minne apolis Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Antal Dorati. BIG SOUNDS FOR SMALL FRY: Walt Disney's "Story of Bambi," complete with narration by Jimmy Dodd and full color illustrations and story book, is now available by way of Disneyland. And on the same label, "Jimmie Dodd Sings His Favorite Hymns" is another sure thing for the younger set. JAZZOMAN IA: The great Charlie Parker comes to life in a new three record series, "The Charlie Parker Story," on Verve. This hunk of jazz legend can be purchased individually. And from the same label comes a series of 14 separate LPs which were cut at the Newport Festival last July and feature some of the greatest names in jazz. For the buffs, here's a mixture to suit any taste: "Direct from San Francisco," with Bob Scobey on Good Time Jazz; "Salute to Satch," Joe Newman, RCA; "The Jazztone Mystery Band," and don't look at the liner notes on this one see if you recognize the artists from their ex citing sounds; "Gone for the Day," June Christy's latest on Capitol; "Jazz Eroti qa," starring some excellent musicians on Hi-Fi Records; the exciting Sarah Vaughan and her trio on Mercury's "Swingin' Easy," and finally, "La Vern," Atlantic's New Year surprise with the very fine La Vern Baker vocalizing. SAMPLING THE SOUND TRACKS: Sinatra's "Pal Joey" with Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak is Capitol's offering, and already it has found a big audience with those who have seen the movie. "Search for Paradise," from Cinerama's release of the same title, features a Dimitri Tiom kin . score, and is presented by RCA. Direct from the San Francisco and Los Angeles Light Opera comes "Annie Get Your Gun" with Mary Martin and John Raitt, and this one, too, is rapidly hitting the sales jackpot.
