Clary, 233 ; Granite street, Ashland. The l bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ferte, Albu ' querque, N.M. ! Baskets of white chrysan themums and ev ergreen boughs cecorated the church for the ceremony. Miss Edna Dougherty played the wed k ding music and accompanied Miss Arlieta Knowles, solo- r 1st. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white : tulle and lace oyer satin dress fashioned with lace bodice and lace insertsi n the bouffant t: skirt. Her veil was fingertip t- length and she carried a white orchid on a white Bible with satin ribbons and bouvardia. I. Miss Peggy O'Keefe was honor attendant for the bride and Miss Linda Madison was bridesmaid. They wore white brocade sheath dresses with - back detail of red chiffon pan Z els and wore matching red 2 headbands and red satin r pumps. They carried red satin muffs with white flowers. t Little Becky Taylor was flow- er girl for her aunt. - William T. Mrs. Oscar Hanson, Trail and Mrs. Ed Brown and Mrs. Dale Sawyer, Shady Cove, were co-hostesses. Games were played with prizes being won bv Mrs. Bert Graven and Mrs. Carl Scott. Andther prize was won by Mrs. Jack Carl ton. The Eifts included a bassi nette given by several women of St. Martin's guild. The cake served was made and decorated by Mrs. Frankie Sheppard. To Meet on Tuesday Rogue Valley Navy Mothers will gather at the Girls Com munity club Tuesday, Jan uary 21, for an all day meet ing starting at 10 a.m. A cov ered dish luncheon will be served at noon. Osier, president, presiding. Mrs. Osier appoint ed Mrs. Frank Salyers general chairman for the affair. Others serving on the com mittee will be Mrs. Fred Graten, Mrs. James A. Grigs by, Mrs. Gertrude Winning ham and Mrs. George W. Thomas, Ashland. The party will be a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Osier appointed Mrs. Herbert L. Alford, Mrs. Fred A. Purdin and Mrs. Salyers on the nominating commit tee, and Mrs. Ralph Lue and Mrs. Alford on the committee for amendments. Past presidents of the club will be honored with a noon luncheon March 10 in the Ma sonic temple. After the business meeting, cards were played and a spe cial award was given Mrs Osier. Scottish Rite Masons held a stated meeting in the Lodge of Perfection, with Venerable Master Knute H. Lindgren officiating, and a stated meet ing in the Chapter of Rose Croix, with Wisemaster Wil lard E. Hunter presiding. The thirteenth degree of Scottish Rite Freemasonry presented by Menno S. Bach- mann and cast, under the di rection of Knute H. Lindgren Special honor was given Fred A. Purdin, who received the rank and decoration of 33 degree, inspector general hon orary, of the Ancient and Ac cepted Scottish Rite Decem ber 28 in the Scottish Rite temple in Portland. There were 359 men in the southern jurisdiction who re ceived this decoration, and Mr. Purdin was one of 10 from the State of Oregon. Members were elected to receive this honor by the Su preme Council of the Scot tish Rite, at a meeting in Washington, D. C, last Octo ber. The rank and decoration are given to members for work performed by them. Ralph Lue and John J. Kennedy, who both already hold the 33 degree, attended the ceremony from Medford. The men joined the ladies for coffee and hot cherry turnovers following Monday's meeting. The committee for the eve ning was Mrs. Verna McCal lister, Mrs. Verl G. Walker, Mrs. Melvin Krows and Mrs Ross McVay, Grants Pass. The next meeting will be January 27, at 8 p.m. in the Masonic temple with Mrs, Fred W. Scheffel as chair man. All Scottish Rite Masons' wives, widows, mothers, daughters and sisters are wel come to attend. 4 Meetings Announced For Lodge and Club Olive Rebekah lodge will meet Monday, January 20, at 8 pjn. at the Odd Fellows hall. Refreshment committee will include Mrs. John Small, Mrs. A. R. Farnsley, Mrs. Ella Russell and Mrs. Catherine Sowell. Beehive club of the Rebekah lodge will meet Wednesday, January 22, at 12:30 p.m. for potluck lunch eon at the home of Mrs. Earl Scripter, 727 West Fourth street. Pernell, 286 Vista avenue, Medford, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at an open house held at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gertson, Ashland. Pernell 286 Vista avenue, Medford, was observed Dec ember 29, with open house at the home of their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gertson, Ashland. The open house also observed silver wedding anniversary of the Gertsons. The living room was decor ated in gold, silver and white. At one end of the room an 8-feet spruce Christmas tree was covered with snow and decorated with gold roses and snowflakes. The mantel above the fireplace had a tree made of silver foil with blue lights and angel hair, making a background for a white ma donna and tiny white angels. The table in the dining room was laid with a lace cloth over gold. The punch bowl in the center was en circled with evergreens and gold and sliver roses. Mrs. Barbara Gertson Bart lett, Portland, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pernell, pre sided at the champagne punch bowl. The other three grand daughters, Linda of Klamath Falls and Dale and Beverly of Grants Pass served approxim ately 50 guest who called dur ing the afternoon. For this occasion Mrs. Per nell was attired in powder blue lace over taffeta. Her corsage was of tiny yellow rosebuds with golden rib bons. Installing officers for the ceremony were Mrs. Blaine Shirley, installing officer; Mrs. Irvin Patten, ceremonial marshal; Mrs. I. V. Lawrence Jr., assistant ceremonial mar shal; Mrs. Russell Zundel, chancellor; . Mrs. J. V. Law rence, inner sentinel; Mrs. Gilman and Mrs. Robert L. Merritt, musicians. The five graces are Miss Blanche Arnold, faith; Mrs. Charles Hendry, courage; Mrs. Anna McCormick, mod esty; Mrs. Earl Coss, unself ishness; Mrs. Tom Lynch, en durance. Flag bearer is Mrs. Ruby Mallory and Mrs. Del bert Ross, juvenile director, with Mrs. Tom Mee, captain of the degree staff. Following the installation ceremonies a program was held. A solo was given by Mrs. Larry Juniper, Mrs. J. R. Seiler gave a reading, and silver ribbons. Both couples received many cards and gifts, with messages from friends in far-away places. Long distance tele phone calls came from Louis points. Mr. and Mrs. Pernell were married in Osyaka, Miss. Dec ember 30, 1907 and lived in that vicinity until 1921 when they moved their family west.
