FOUR MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Medford DeMolay Chap'a'r Holds Installation Ceremony . Dale Foresee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Foresee, 2814 Crater Lake highway, was in stalled master councilor of Medford chapter. Order of De Molay, at ceremonies held January 8 at the Medford Masonic lod?e. - Willis Williams was instal led senior councilor; Robert ?ond, junior councilor; Lynn Knight, senior deacon; Steve labrick, junior deacon; Den nis Barr, senior steward; Robert Emmens, junior stew ard; John Norris, chaplain, Alan Cone, marshal; Richard Kengla, orator: George Ice, almoner, Jim Fawcett, senti nel; Lester Little, standard bearer; Ted Lawson, scribe; Larry Lea, Edward McGrew, Michael Woldridge, Robert y j "-ami" M ."ft - Dale Foresee Baker; Ric Middlekauff, John Fawcett, and Robert Good win, preceptors. ; Malta Commander y. Knight Templar, performed ihe installation service with V. A. Turpin as installating officer. Soloist was Miss Katherine Barr, Miss Lou Elsa Voegtly played the piano and John Lusk and the Chanters sang several selections. The clos ing ceremony was performed by Bethel 55, International Order of Job's Daughters, headed by Miss Marcia Spence honored queen. Miss Joe Ann Foresee pre sented a gavel to the new master councilor, her brother, and a bouquet of roses was presented to his mother, Mrs. Foresee. The new master councilor introduced his parents, sister, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Rushton and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnston, his grandparents, and Miss Linda Goble and Mr. and Mrs. John Rush. Michael Russell received his past master councilor pin. Mrs. Evelyn McGill, grand guardian of Oregon, Job's Daughters, was introduced as a special guest. Also intro duced were DeMolay advisors, Howard Phillips, Paul Shan tol; Dad advisors. Glen Fa brick, Robert Williams, Ray Schweiger, and Jack Walker; Mrs. Harld Gordon, guardian and Herbert Sampert, asso ciate guardian Bethel 55; Mrs. Robert Morris, guardian and Morris Boughner, asso ciate guardian, Bethel 14; Lem Manning, grand outer guard of Oregon, International Or- deer of Job's Daughters; Mrs. Margaret Russell, past presi' dent, Mothers' club; Lester Goff, past master councilor, Crater chapter Order of De Molay: and Miss Sue Knight queen of Bethel 14, Job's Daughters. A number of visiting beth el officers and officers of Ma sonic lodge affiliated groups were also introduced. Re- freshments were served and dancing was held following the installation ceremonies. Sunda7'JanuarYl9 1958;Rebekahs and Odd Fellows Hold Annual Installation' Activities Listed By Fellowship Activities of the Christian Women's Fellowship, First Christian church, were an nounced at the business meet ing and luncheon held Jan uary 8 at the church. Circle 6 was in charge of the lunch eon and the missionary pro gram, presented by Mrs. John A. Reed, was on "Let's Visit a Japanese Church." The pro gram is the first in a series of the study of the United Church of Christ in Japan. Mrs. Floyd Putman gave the devotional on 'Be Ye Ever Perfect.' Today Mrs. D. B. Knowlton, Japanese war bride, will be guest speaker for the school of missions held at the church Sunday evenings. On January 26 a Japanese Festival will be held. The Christian Women's Fellowship provide part of the snack supper that is held prior to the school. Mentioned at the business meeting was the World Day of Prayer to be held at the Zion Lutheran chuch, Febru ary 21, and a report was made by Mrs. Troxell from the Medford Council of Church Women. It was mentioned that the Women's Christian Tem perance Union meets the third Joint installation for officers of Olive Rebekah lodge and Odd Fellows lodge was held Tuesday, January 14. Installed for Olive Rebekah lodge were Mrs. Lee Garrett, noble grand; Mrs. R. N. Smith, vice-grand; Mrs. Harry Bryant, recording secretary; Mrs. L. F. Cline, financial secretary; Mrs. Donald Ivie, treasurer; Mrs. John Small, chaplain; Mrs. Riley Apple gate, conductor; Mrs. J. A. Thomasson, warden; M r s. James Cech, musician. Also installed were Mrs. O. T. Wilson, inside guard ian; Mrs. J. D. Brummond, outside guardian; Mrs. Frank Chapman, right support noble grand; Mrs. H. Shearer, left support noble grand; Mrs. Thursday of each month at the Girls Community club. The group was reminded of youth week that will be held at th.e church starting Jan uary 26. Theme for the fellowship this month is brotherly love. The Christian Women's Fel lowship executive meeting will be held at the church Tuesday, January 21, at 1 p.m. Baby sitting services will be provided. F. A. They were assisted by Mrs. Loyd Nor man, Mrs. John' Black, Mrs. Kindred Thomas, Mrs. Jack McDaniels, Mrs. ' George Brownlee, Mrs. Leo Fretwell, Carl Black, Loyd Norman, Arthur Hinkie, Albert Hack ett, Earnest Ramsey, Clarence Jordan and Tom Thompson. Red Cross Board Names Director The board of directors of Jackson County chapter, American Red Cross 'an nounces the appointment of Mrs. E. J. La Marre, Ashland, to the staff as director of nursing services. Mrs. La Marre will super vise the enrollment of nurses of disaster and the instruction of classes in home care of the sick and injured and mother and baby care. Red Cross officials are pres ently urging all registered nurses to contact the office and enroll their names for duty during disaster. Members Attend Lodge Ceremony A group of 14 members of Medford Pythian orders went to Grants Pass last Wednes day evening to witness the joint installation of the offi cers of Thermopylae lodge, Knights of Pythias, and Ther mopylae temple, Pythian sis ters. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fichtner, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bostwick, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy F. Patricia Hanson Installed Queen Medford Bethel 55 Bethel 55, International Order of Job's Daughters, held installation, of officers January 15, with Miss Patri cia Hanson taking office as oueen. Miss Hanson is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R W. Hanson, 703 Mae street. Miss Marcia Spence was in stalling queen. Miss Spence was presented a past queen's pin by Miss Hanson, and in turn received a traveling queen's pin and Jobina doll from Miss Spence. Queen Patricia was presented flowers from her father and a gavel by her brother. " Addenda were given by members for the new and re tiring queen, and Miss Spence was presented the traditional piece of silver and Jobina doll. Miss Hanson received a scrapbook. Theme for ' the evening chosen by Queen Patricia was "Sailing Not Drifting," and the programs were in the shape of a ship's log. VFW Auxiliary To Hold Dinner Crater Lake auxiliary, Vet erans of Foreign Wars, has made plans for a potluck din ner at VFW hall, Tuesday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. All post and auxiliary mem bers, are invited to attend.
