Rossiter Sr. of Areata. Calif., was celebrated at an open house Saturday after noon at the home of their daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Alton Sowell, Cave Junction. Among the near 80 persons who attended the affair were all of the Rossiter's six children, 23 of their 27 grandchildren, and 13 of their 21 great grandchildren A cake designed with pale gold and white roses and topped with golden wedding bells formed the centerpiece for the candlelighted serving table. Miss Carolyn Milburn, a granddaugh ter from Jerome Prairie, made and decorated the anniversary cake. The table was spread with a gold lace cloth, while golden chrysanthemums were provided by Mr. Rossiter's niece, Mrs Beulah Soles of Eureka. Presid ing at the silver services were the Mesdanies Carolyn Milburn, Sowell and Edna McCall. White and wine colored chry santhemums decorated the room, while Mrs, Rossiter wore a cor sage of yellow and white chrysanthemums. John Rossiter and Julia E. Gei- ger were married December 4, 1907 at Watonga, Okla. After living for a while in Colorado, they came to the west coast in 1932, and made their home in the Illinois Valley from 1936 through 1946. After Mr. Rossiter retired from his work at Oregon Caves Lumber company, the couple moved to Areata, their present home. Among their many gifts was one from Mrs. Rossiter's nephew in New York, the president of Grace Shipping lines, who sent an alpaca wool rug from Lima, Peru. Special guests included Mrs. Rossiter's brother, ...Ralph Geiger of Mounatin Home, Ida., his wife and son Max; Mr. Rossiter's eld es stister, Mrs. Belle Boyer and her daughter, Mrs. Soles, Eure ka. Their six children are the hostess, Mrs. Sowell Delbert Ros siter, Bear Creek, Ore.; Albert Rossiter, Jerome Prairie John W. Rossiter, Holland; Marion J. Rossiter, Jerome Prairie, and Mrs. McCall, Eureka, Calif. Four generations of "John Rossiters" were present for the occasion. Eagle Point Home Extension unit will meet Thursday, Decem ber 12 at. 1030 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Ed Chamberlain. The project will be "Consumer Buy ing of Foods" with Mrs. Hoyle Jordan and Mrs. David Kahl as leaders. Members are asked to bring ! table service and articles for a I Christmas bazaar.
