Regional Meeting Planned to Review Reorganization Law Regional meetings will be held in late November or early December with representatives of the state board of education when county committee chair men Qill review procedures in reorganization of school dist ricts, according to Alf B. Mek vold, county school superintend ent. Following regional naeetings, chairmen will meet with county committees and d e c i d e more definitely how to proceed. Mek vold said. The state board of education is now checking vari ous committees in the state on and when and where to hold the meetings, the county superin tendent said. According to the terms of the revised rural school law a meet ing was helcr in Mekvold's office on Oct. 29 at which time a com mittee was organized. Archie D. Cyries and Mekvold, who is secretary to the committee, will determine what further inform ation is needed for the reorganiz ation of the rural school dis tricts. Purpose of the county com mittee is to plan reorganization of school districts, where neces sary, into more efficient ad ministrative units to provide better education programs for schools concerned. insurance Agencies Merge Info New Firm The Atkins Insurance agency, 1014 North Riverside ave., and the Tucker Insurance agency, 328 South Central ave., have merged into the Atkins-Tucker agency, according to a recent announcement. Hagenstein urged all western Congressmen and Senators to work together to speed up the management of Federal forest by a four-point program. The program includes speedy re inventory to reflect current wood use, recalculation of al lowable cuts from these inven tories, offering for sale each year of the full allowable cut, 2nd a realistic program for tim ber access roads and timber sale personnel. Hagenstein said the program, which must be financed by Con gress, is the only way Federal timber prices can be brought down so that home builders Snd other wood users can buy forest products at reasonable prices. The forester predicted that the West's forest industry, now No. 2 as a basic income pro vider, could double its present employment of 500,000 people with more diversified wood use. Harvest of Federal forests at a realistic allowable cut will help make this possible, he said. Parenls Visit Rooms At Griffin Creek .
