The bride's parents ate Mr. and Mrs. Ross M. Conner, Route 2, Med ford, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Madden, 1902 Houston road, Medford The Rev. -Wgliam C. Piper read the double-ring rites and Mr. Conner gave his daughter in tarriage. C.j 01in Rice was at the organ aiid Richard W. Melum was soLftist. About 140 guests attended jthe ceremony. The bride's gown was of white satin with overlay of French lace on upper fashioned with bodice. It was low waistline, long sleeves and j full length skirt with long train jj The dress was handmade by th bride and her mother, and the- bride designed the seed pearl afid sequin trim. A pearl and sequin tiara held her fingertip lenjgth veil and she carried white chrysanthemums and stephanotix on a white Bible. u Miss Naida Smith, Bend, Ore., was honor attendant and brides maids were Mills Beverly Pil cher, Camas, jVash., former roommate of the bride at col lege and Miss Norene Davis. Their frocks wegre of fall colors, with Miss Smitjii wearing dark rust colored taffeta, Miss Pff cher light rust taffeta and Miss Davis, yellow. Tfeeir shoes were dyed to match jtfceir frocks and they carried chrysanthemums of matching colors!: iTheir flowered headdresses were made by the bride. Teresa gladden, Phoenix, niece of ttfe bridegroom, was flower girl. Her frock was of dark brown taffeta. The candle lighters, Mrs. Gordon Mekvold, Central Point, and Mrs. Jerry Griffith, wre geen taffeta frocks. Michael Johnson was ring bearer. William F. Madden was best man for his brother and ushers were GordonoMekvold and Ron ald Bean. The reception was held at the church. Mrs. Lee Johnson cut the wedding cake, Miss Maria Abbott served punch and others assisting with the serving were Mrs. Kenneth Phillips, Mrs. Dale Waltermyer, Mrs. R. Con ner and Mrs. A. Curtis Stock still. Baskets of ferns and chrysan themums in rust, yellow and brown tone decorated the church for thfi weeding and pas tel colored flowers were used for reception fidecot-ationfc, Can dles lighted the rooms. P. Williams was made in Portland Thursday evening. Miss West is the elder daughter of Dr. and Mrs. D. Kirkland West, 52 Ross court, Medford, and Mr. Williams is the son of Mrs. Thomas V. Williams. Hous ton road, Phoenix, and the late Mr. Williams. The wedding is planned for the Christmas season here in First Presbyterian church, of which Dr. West is pastor. The engagement news was told first to members of the choir of Central Presbyterian church. Portland, which Miss West directs, during a gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Haslett. Miss West is a graduate of Medford High school and Lewis and Clark college, Portland, and attended Westminster Choir college, Princeton, N.J. She is currently practice teaching mu sic at David Douglas and Rus sellville schools in Portland. Mr. Williams was graduated from Medford High school and the University of Oregon, and is now a senior at the University of Oregon Medical school, Port land. Dinner Is Given By Four Couples A large dinner party was giv en at Rogue aVlley Country club last evening, with four couples as hosts. Entertaining were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fairweather, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Martin E. Sands and Mr. and Mrs. Scott V. Davis. Dinner was served to 74 guests in the Crest room. Teachers to Wed In Service Here Mr. and Mrs. Fred Middle busher, 1098 -Hilton road, an nounce the approaching mar riage of their daughter, Monte Kay, to Carl David Campbell. The ceremony is planned for November 9, at First Christian church, Medford. Mr. Campbell is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Campbell of Cave Junction. Miss Middlebusher is a gradu ate of -Prospect High school and Oregon State college where she was affiliated with Alpha Omi cron Pi social sorority. She is a physical education instructor at the Senior High school in Springfield, Ore. Mr. Campbell was also gradu ated from Prospect High school and Southern Oregon college and is a teacher In the Eugene public schools. Miss Middlebusher is spend ing this weekend with her parents in Medford and will re turn to Springfield this evening. for their honeymoon, the bride wearing a rose colored suit for traveling. They are living at 3653 South Pacific highway. The bride attended Linfield col lege, lcMinnville, Ore., after graduating from Crater High schorl. andis a stenographer for Bear Creek orchard. The bride groom attended Phoenix High school and Southern Oregon college and is with Wilson Lum ber company. Pledge Ceremony Held by Chapter Mrs. Carl Christenson conduct ed a ritual for pledges of Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Tuesday night in the home of Mrs. M. N. Hogan. Mrs. Chris tenson was assfsted by Mfs. Ray Bostwick, Mrs. Richard Knoll, Mrs. Arthur Brooks and Mrs. Marsh Ramsby. Pledging were Mrs. Dale Hogan, Mrs. (red Wilson and Mrs. Jack Givler. The ritual table was centered with yellow roses. Assisting Mrs. Hogan as co hostesses were Mrs. Walter Smith, Mrs. Knoll and Mrs. Larry Horton. The lace covered serving ta ble was centered with an ar rangement of gold colored dahl-l ias. Mrs. Scott Davis poured. Engagement Told At Recent Party Mrs. H. J. Casson, 24 South Foothills road, recently invited a group of friends to a surprise party at her home to announce the engagement of her daughter, Elizabeth Casson, to Maynard C. Culmer, also of Medford. She was assisted in serving by Mrs. Fred G. Morris and Miss Hannah Casson, sister of the bride-to-be. The decorated en gagement cake was made and presented by Mrs. Maurice Ritchey. Both Miss Casson and Mr. Culmer are employees of Cali fornia Oregon Power company. No date has -been set for the wedding. Carousel Dates Set "Carousel," Rogers and Hem merstein musical to be produced by the Medford High school choir, will be presented Thurs day and Friday, November 21 and 22 instead of November 14 and 16 as previously announced. Directed by Mrs. Lenore Za pell and Lynn Sjalund, faculty members, the play has a cast of approximately 100, including dancers. John Drysdale, faculty member, will direct the orches tra, which will include 40 stu dents. Tickets will go on sale Mon day, November 4, at the Med ford High school office. Work on the sets is being done by the Art Students' League, costumes by the home economics classes, and tickets will be sold by the Future Business Leaders of America club. Some of the costumes and props have been donated for use in the production by Medford residents. Included are several pairs of shoes 'Of approximately 50 years ago. Anyone having items that could be used in the production are asked to contact Mr. Sjolund at the high school. - Ashland Lady Elks To Be Entertained By Medford Group Medford Lady Elks will enter tain Ashland Lady Elks at a luncheon and afternoon of cards Tuesday, November 5, at 12:30 p.m. in the ladies party lounge at the Medford Elks temple. Luncheon Planned 'By Mothers' Club Jackson county unit, Oregon State college Mothers' club will hold a luncheon meeting Thurs day, November 7, at 12 noon at the Rogue Valley Country club. Duplicate Club Announces Play The monthly master point play will be held Tuesday at the Medford Duplicate club bridge session at the Girls' Community club. Ten tables playing Mitchell movement participated in the October 29 session of the club. Top scorers in the north-south position were Bob Dickey and Boyd, 13512; while Mrs. Alto Pruitt and Mrs. E. L. Miller and Mrs.- Fred Purdin and Mrs. Jack Mitchell,- I26V2 in the north-south position. East-west position players and points were Paul McDuffee and Al Gilhousen, 126V2; Mrs. Rob ert Elliott and Mrs. Elliott Har low, 109Vi, and Mr. .and Mrs. Thomas Randall and Mrs. W. W. Stevenson and Dr. Elliott Har low tied with 108 points each, were high with 129 points In the east-west position. Sojourners Club Changes Sessions Medford Sojourners' club will meet the first and third Thurs days in November in order that members may be free for Thanksgiving, it was announced last week. The next session will be Thursday, November 7, at 12:30 p.m. in Girls' Community club.
